The Federation of Engine Unions is a huge, efficient nation, renowned for its rum-swilling pirates, smutty television, and sprawling nuclear power plants. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 587 million Engine Unionists are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

Crime, especially youth-related, is pervasive, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Engine Unions's national animal is the beaver, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
