The Federation of Roeder is a mammoth, genial nation, remarkable for its pith helmet sales, conspicuous electricity pylons, and national health service. The compassionate population of 7.904 billion Roederians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

Photographers can be found hiding behind the curtains in Leader's bedroom, the mob and the police have recently had numerous clashes in the back alleys of Roeder's cities due to the government's steadfast anti-casino stance, adverts depict men giving birth while cursing the women who got them into trouble, and the military maintains a fierce arsenal of 'Cure Missiles'. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Roeder's national animal is the Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
