The Holy Imperial Realm of Vikendia is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Kirill II Zaviryukhin with an iron fist, and notable for its free-roaming dinosaurs, infamous sell-swords, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, cynical, cheerful, devout population of 3.412 billion Vikendians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Industry, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kholodnygorod. The average income tax rate is 82.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Vikendian economy, worth 508 trillion Grivnas a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Tourism, and Arms Manufacturing. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 149,000 Grivnas, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The crispy fried liver of a Zmei is prized as a tasty treat by vagrants, nephews and nieces of the monarch resort to begging from relatives in palace halls, the monarchy has adopted absolute primogeniture, and sullen teenagers in bright orange 'community payback' onesies can be seen picking litter at the roadside. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vikendia's national animal is the Zmei, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Cult of Boreas.

Vikendia is ranked 13,198^th in the world and 246^th in Europe for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring 4,473.42 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
