The Kingdom of Kotkavia is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Queen Kaljumele II with a fair hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls, keen interest in outer space, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 3.174 billion Kotkavs love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Valanjaa. The average income tax rate is 78.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Kotkavian economy, worth 444 trillion Euros a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Book Publishing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 140,076 Euros, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Children's TV shows are having a gay old time, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', Eau de Trashcan has become a wildly popular perfume, and families waiting for delayed pipe installations hope daily for rain. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kotkavia's national animal is the Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Kotkavia is ranked 9,916^th in the world and 230^th in Europe for Most Developed, scoring 90.61 on the Human Development Index.
