The Jingoistic States of Gravankia is a massive, orderly nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service, state-planned economy, and stringent health and safety legislation. The cynical population of 1.194 billion Gravankians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 44.3%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Gravankian economy, worth 20.4 trillion gravus a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Beef-Based Agriculture, Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Furniture Restoration. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 17,104 gravus, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Landless farmers wander forlornly in the government's many national parks, candidates for public office painstakingly research their family trees to ensure their eligibility, the lactose-intolerant are force-fed cheese products with predictably gassy results, and Gravankia has designated Gravankia City as its capital city. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gravankia's national animal is the sparrow.

Gravankia is ranked 302,546^th in the world and 572^nd in Starlight for Most Developed, scoring 43.61 on the Human Development Index.
