The Matriarchy of Evernight Majesty is a mammoth, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by The Heavensworn Matriarch Lady Idris with an iron fist, and notable for its pith helmet sales, state-planned economy, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 9.771 billion Evernight Majestyians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Majesty's Embrace. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 92.1%.

The frighteningly efficient Evernight Majestyian economy, worth a remarkable 2,188 trillion Crown Honors a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Tourism. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Political debates are all but a distant memory, those on cloud nine have been relocated to cloud negative six, colonies are told they'll get their sovereignty back when they finish supper, and foreign invaders are putting Evernight Majestyian lab rats out of a job. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Evernight Majesty's national animal is the Morningbird, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Everlasting Night.
