The Refuge — The controversial verdict of a legal dispute between foreign and domestic oil conglomerates and private citizens over land rights still reverberates throughout the nation. The case of Sankyu v. TetOil, which has spent over four years in the Supreme Highest Court of Random-Chan (the Highest and most Supreme Court in the nation), was decided last 10 minutes ago in a move which has been described by top legal experts as “tuff”. The hIGh court resolutely decided to deny BOTH parties their claims, decidedly resolving the case. Instead, in not even the top 50 most corrupt things the court has done, it has given all underground legal and resource rights to the government.

Random-Chan herself has also ordered the seizure and nationalization of significant parts of foreign and domestic oil industries, a radical move for the historically pro-business leader. A new 20% tax on existing non-government oil companies and oil imports has also been levied.

Today the government has announced the creation of the state-run corporation “Twin-Drill Inc.”, a petroleum extraction and refining business. It seems the government is set on extracting the nation’s oil itself, though it claims that the hiring of the previous heads of oil companies to the board of directors of Twin-Drill was purely coincidental.

It seems the only loser once again is the common citizen… except NOT. A new investment fund, the All Randomian Securities Exchange (ARSE), bankrolled by the profits of the new company and oil tax has been established with the intent of investing the natural wealth of Random-Chan back into the nation. The government has also establish a universal pension plan for all citizens which will be paid for by dividends from the investment fund. Projections have placed RGDP increasing by nearly 5% this year, largely due to new planned fossil fuel extraction and refinement by Twin-Drill.

Some stories can have a good ending after all. :)
