The Red Queendom of Vold is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Queen Iselin I with an iron fist, and notable for its prohibition of alcohol, devotion to social welfare, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, cynical population of 1.014 billion Voldish are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

There's a bright dawn ahead for Vold, unemployed accountants keep double-entry ledgers of their benefit claims, droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police, and only vaccinated citizens may have free healthcare. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vold's national animal is the firebird, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
