Faint memories now.) But I used those images a long time ago. A walk down memory lane. Back when I was a bit more focused on things "looking, big, cool, and badass" way back before I devoted myself to military realism and started the long switch over to more realistic, practical designs. Good job for your first military factbooks though. I'd recommend the military realism section of stuff in the Basic Regional Roleplay Rules, Guidelines, Terminology, & Etiquette dispatch as I just recently added some new links to some youtube videos which I found really helpful in teaching me about military realism and the importance of keeping practical stuff in mind like logistics and all that. You know if you want to keep going down the addictive military factbook rabbit hole like I have. lol. I've found them extremely helpful and I can say that my factbooks are actually close to being done. Which is a crazy thought since I thought they'd never truly be finished. Good job again though.

Oh yeah will ya look at that. I remember some of these. That big "tank", the russian Typhoon sub the other looks more like a Borei but a bit hard to tell, that helicopter and fighter. OLD stuff. Reminds me that I need to update my stuff. I do like the more practical and realistic route. Some more fantastical stuff here and there is nice dont get me wrong. I mean we all love fusion power and power armor I'm sure. Makes things easier when things need it for playing in NS.

For sure gonna update my stuff. Watched those linked videos before. Really does change how you think about it. Been thinking about using the Leopard 2 for the tank seeing as none of the other german-esque nations (Sovern, cough) seem to be using it. Although the Leopard 3 german/french hybrid is interesting. Not opposed to sharing tank designs like the irl leopard with some of the other german-esque nations if they ask (cough Sovern cough Volieks cough). Would be interesting and more realistic.

Question though Vostag. I applaud the realism of your military factbooks but how do you justify the landships? I mean your subterrene things I see you've updated to Tunnel Borers but the landships I'm just curious. Seeing as Tritra's new "tank" is an old image for a landship you've used before it just makes me curious.

OOC: Oh I like the tank idea. Could dovetail nicely with my tanks too given that the irl abrams and leopard both grew out of a joint tank program between the US, Germany, and Britain back in the 70s. So somewhat similar irl tanks like that would be cool. Like I've told you before I'm always glad to help with military factbooks as it seems like one of the most experienced areas I have on here.

As for the question. My justification or excuse is of course going to be the NASA Crawler and those big bucket wheel excavators. They exist irl so those are the closest examples out there of irl landships. However in my pursuit of realism I have been really contemplating whether or not I want to keep the landships or not. At the very least I think I'm going to limit it down to one or two types/classes as then it would make more sense in terms of logistics for parts, shipping, movement, manpower, etc. But I probably will do that and cut down on the variety. I can say that realistically said vehicles probably patrol "prepared routes" around Hyperborea and can be dismantled into modular components and shipped somewhere else to be rebuilt kind of like the idea of modular house building. at which point the "prepping of a route" matters less because you'd be in an area that is or was under the control of an enemy force so damage to property matters less. Although keeping the vehicle operational is still important in plotting the course of such a machine just like a normal ship.

As for air defense which is always a matter of importance when it comes to big slow things on the ground is mitigated by the use of CIWS guns. But like anything losses are possible just like with normal ships. So that's my justification for it. Or my lame ass excuses depending on who you are lol.

To those who want a realistic military I simply say look around you in the real world. Plenty of irl stuff that is great and gets the job done without the need to add extra details to try and make it better.

OOC: I need to update my stuff too. I may be interested in the tank thing. The one sub is clearly a Typhoon (funny because of the all rights reserved thing and Vostag has an actual picture of a typhoon class. makes me chuckle a little) The other isn't a borei but an Akula I believe. With some added on bits but really looks like an Akula to me.

Upon recieving this letter, Asōkha decides he would take the risk and go to sovern,

He bought a plane ticket the next day to the nation and flew there,

After a long exhausting flight he arrived, he got a hotel and wrote another letter,

It felt so strange to him still, usually he would have guards with him, but now that he wasn’t in power anymore nobody cared if this man died

Either way he sent another letter to the government revealing that he was here and his current location,

If he was to be assassinated he left everything to his cousin Kao-Baī

And he sat there, with his personal sword just in case, waiting for a reply or for someone to come

SIC: Within the evening, Asōkha would hear a gentle knocking at his door. Upon opening the door it is revealed to be a single young man. "Asōkha, I am Agent Vlad, I am from the Sovern Special Protections Agency (S.S.P.A.), we're tasked in protecting those escaping their nation, witnesses, and much more. I have been assigned by President Alduin himself to escort you to his office, where he wishes to have a conversation. I have also been assigned to protect you while you stay here in Sovern. You will be given a safehouse where you will be monitored, and protected. You will be supplied, fed, and observed by the state. Your existence in Sovern will be classified, as you will not be permitted to communicate with the outside world. This is to insure your safety and your location remain a secret from those who have ill intentions with Sovern, or your closest enemies." the agent snaps his fingers.

Two men in similar suit outfits enter the room and begin tearing it apart in search of anything that may compromise their location. The agent helps himself in the room and closes the door, locking it in the process. "Pardon my intrusion but we have to survey the room before we may confirm our location and escort you to your next destination." the agent adds before helping himself to a mint chocolate on the pillow. An agent in the background reports, "Clear!" before Agent Vlad would nod, report his findings to his ear piece, and be on their way with Asōkha. The last agent in the room left a 100V tip for the housekeeping in the effort to make up for the damage they have caused.

Asōkha was then safely escorted to the Vinhav Hall, the workplace and residence of Sovern's President. Upon entering the Presidential Office, Asōkha is introduced to President Alduin in person, along with his Secretary of State.

"Greetings Asōkha, I am Joseph Alduin. You may call me Joseph, or whatever you desire. Formalities aren't important to me as one would expect." President Alduin introduces himself while helping himself to some whiskey, pouring two glasses; one for himself and the second for his guest. "It is in due respects that one must pour a glass for every guest that enters a Sovern's home. You don't have to drink it, but it is here for you if you'd like." the President kindly places a glass on the table of which their holding their conversation on. President Alduin helps himself to half of his glass before settling down.

"Now, Asōkha. Could you elaborate the situation you are in, and please be very specific." President Alduin openly inquests.

The Hyperborean Empire of Vostag

IC: Deck of 52: Three of Clubs

The Kaiser and the Orphan raiders, secretly known as the Wild Hunt, have been hard at work in the war in Mu. Using their skills to break through enemy lines, tactical strikes, that sort of thing. While doing all this they have been hunting, hunting for Gula Waimauloa, who according to the Two of Clubs "Waimauloa is little more than a thug. Responsible for recruiting most of the bodyguards and strong arm men used by Pali Keenapualikoa's operation. Kim has no formal education or military training. Instead, he relies on his own physical strength and willingness to kill without hesitation anyone who might interfere with his masters' plans."

Despite having gained this information they haven't been able to track down the Three of Clubs... until now.

"Hey we just got an email. Some guy says he's a Muan intelligence officer who is fleeing to Daguo. Says he knows where we can find our man Gula." Says Ivar calling the rest of the orphan raiders over to him as he sits looking over the new data on a computer.

Once the group gathers around Ivar continues "According to these documents it looks like our guy is at these coordinates just outside the megalopolis on the west coast of Mu. Says he's got a bunker overlooking a river just outside the city." Says Ivar.

"I'll call to get sat photography to start surveying the area. See if we can't get the fly boys to send some drones in. Get us some eyes and ears on this guy." Says Hakon before walking away to make the call.

"That's something people seem to forget. Sometimes you can get there on your own and sometimes things just fall in your lap." Says the Kaiser with a slight grin on his face. "Well let's start getting ready to get this guy before he decides to up and run on us."

After a couple of weeks of prep work and surveillance the team is ready to go. The Orphan raiders arrive at a small, allied field hospital which conincidentally is nearby to the Three of Clubs location. Unlike their assault against the Two of Clubs which was very smash and grab in nature they are going a more stealthy route this time around as they have gotten more intel that informs them that the Three of Clubs is very paranoid and liable to run at the first sign of trouble.

"Okay boys let's do this. Remember strict radio silence we don't wanna spook this guy into running. Yngvar, Vidar, and Ragnar you guys go with Bjorn and come at em from the river side while Hakon, Sigi, and Ivar will come with me and we'll come up the dirt access road side." Says the Kaiser.

"Gotcha. You heavies come at the front nice and loud and flush our guy to us." Bjorn remarks.

"I've always said you had the face of a dog and now here you're gonna be a hunting dog for me." Ragnar says to Hakon.

"Yeah well you better be careful because I bite." Hakon replies.

"I wouldn't want to get bit by that ugly mug. You just know he doesn't have all his shots. Who knows what kind of diseases you'd catch." Says Yngvar piping in shaking his head.

"Ladies, ladies please you're all equally ugly. Now can we get this show on the road?" Says Bjorn putting an end to the situation. With that the group splits up and makes there way to the secluded hideaway of the Three of Clubs. The Kaiser's group stick to the forests just off the road so as to decrease the chances of being spotted while Bjorn's group make their way through the wilderness slowly and stealthily until they finally reach the river that the Three of Clubs bunker is supposed to overlook. A bridge is visible just down the river a short distance which is one of the landmarks to indicate to the group that they are in the right place.

Meanwhile the Kaiser's group continue making their way along the road. On several occasions they are forced to stop and hide themselves with the passing of Muan vehicles. After traveling along the main road a ways they come upon a dirt road which branches off the main route, they're getting close. The group turns left onto the road heading east. Eventually the dirt road starts to rise with the left side of the dirt road having a unique smoothness to it showing that not much traffic uses that side of the road. Not many Muan vehicles have come up this way.

Bjorn's group look up from their camouflaged location they see a cliff overlooking the river. The top of that cliff is their destination. The group enter the water without making a sound and begin making their way across the water one at a time so as to not draw too much attention. Once some of the men are on both sides they put up a rope so to make crossing the river easier for the rest of the group. Once they are all on the other side at the base of the cliff they begin the dangerous climb up.

Kaiser Odinson, Ivar, Hakon, and Sigi hide amongst the trees as they quietly observe the hideout of the Three of Clubs Gula Waimauloa. Gula is located in a small area overlooking the river from a cliff. There are sandbag barricades with two Muan soldiers and a small bunch of crates behind which they can see Gula is hiding where he is armed with a light MG. There is also a light Muan APC right next to Gula with a Muan soldier in the gunner's position. There is also a scout car next to the cliff with another soldier next to it.

Bjorn and his group are right at the top of the cliff hanging onto the ledge. They can see the scout car and the Muan soldier standing guard near it. Bjorn gives a hand signal to Yngvar who slowly and quietly climbs over the ledge of the cliff and sneaks his way over to the scout car using it as cover. Meanwhile Ivar and Hakon move into a position flanking the Muan APC and quietly move in closer so as to make the gunner unable to fire on their position. The Kaiser and Sigi slowly begin making their way down the main road. Once everyone is in position Ivar and Hakon begin pounding on the side of the APC. The Muan gunner swings the gun into position and tries to aim it at them but the gun mount prevents the machine gun from aiming at such an angle. Meanwhile at the back of the sight Yngvar grabs the Muan soldier standing guard near the scout car, pulls out his knife, and slices the man's throat. The Kaiser and Sigi in the meantime stand up and begin firing focusing their fire on the muan soldier in the gun position of the light APC, the gunner, whose back is to them as less armor shielding on his back side so it isn't long that his is riddled with bullets. Seeing the trouble Gula begins making his way towards the scout car blindly firing his light machine gun behind him. Unknowingly to him he runs right into the hands of Bjron's group. With a few swift punches Bjorn disarms Gula and knocks him unconscious. With the camp secure Sigi and Ivar pull some explosive charges from their packs and place them on the vehicles and in the pillbox. The group, now reunited and with prize in hand scale the cliff face down as they do they detonate the explosive charges which destroy anything of value at the site. It isn't long and they've crossed the river and made it back to the allied field hospital where they are extracted.

SIC: "Indeed. I will accept your plead, you and your dynasty will be granted asylum here in Sovern. You will be under the supervision and protection of the Sovern government, when the time is right we will hold a summit here in Valis with the Kaiser, and we could work on something. Until then, you will be given the due process of claiming asylum, and thus be considered a refugee of war. Although, you must understand that you will owe me a favor, and it would be wise to remember that. Soverns take debt very seriously." President Alduin notes.

The Imperial Hegemony of Helric

IC: "Helrician Ambition"

Today will be marked in history as a big step for the country, what would be known as the Helrician Scientific Revolution; a new sector of industry is born. The foundation of various robotic manufacturers, VAT facilities, genetic research firms, and aerospace technology has boomed. It is expected within the year, the nation should be on par with Sovern in terms of advancement, human development, and general knowledge. Much more is to come for the nation and its people.

Khal Bharbo, Leader of the Confederate Faction

Grand Duke Leon, Leader of the Absolutist Faction

Barnabas Sarney, Leader of the Republican Faction

Read dispatch

Loyalist troops are being mobilized to the Northern Region, the region where the Republicans and Confederates have the most number of supporters. Their first target is the Confederate Faction because they are significantly smaller than the Republican Faction and so it will be a victory with almost no effort put into it. As one would expect, the more technologically advanced forces from the government managed to defeat the majority of the Confederates forces who primarily uses primitive tactics. This defeat boosts the government forces morale and causes the Confederate forces to spread out, their leader Khal Bharbo of the Andahli managed to escape with what remains of his army and finds an ally in Barnabas Sarney, the leader of the Republicans.

“So Mr. Bharbo, I am honored that you came for us. I support your desire to return your lands to your people but if we plan to take down the Tyrant together I can’t allow those lands to become there own seperate nation.” Barney says.

Bharbo’s human translator translates what was said and then translates what Bharbo said.

“What do you suggest ‘fat purple creature’?”

Barney clears his throat; “Well I suggest that we turn your lands into indigenous territories which will be protected by the government. What do you say?”

Bharbo hears his translator and thinks for a moment.

“Deal...!” Bharbo says.

Barney smiles and extends his hand for a handshake but Bharbo pulls him by the arm and touches Barney’s forehead with his forehead symbolizing the closing of that deal. Both would later on make an announcement to both Confederates and Republicans stating that both would fight as one force against the Absolutists and, in ther first battle together, they crushed the government forces many attributing it to luck in numbers but not skill or power.

Back in the capital, the government is furious over this defeat and the union of the Confederates and Republicans and begins sending more troops away from the capital. The troops leaving Rikas and the news of how the government is dealing with it’s own people up north created an opportunity for an insurrection in the capital. It wasn’t long after troops left the capital that a massive protest caught the government by surprise and left them running like headless chickens while calling the troops back to the capital. Elys hears of this massive protest and the instability it has caused, this is the perfect chance for her to enact her plan of escaping the capital. As the Regent and government officials run around Elys orders the staff loyal to her to attacking the Royal Guards by surprise, this creates an opening in the palace’s security which then allows Elys, the royal family and the staff loyal to her to escape. Once they make their way to the streets they see the chaos that has taken over the city, cars burn; the people fight with the police; some policemen fight others; some buildings are evacuated etc. The Royals have never seen such a thing in their lives before and are lost on what to do. Elys leads them to the embassies and calls for every ambassador and officials in those buildings to leave the capital now, as they all run with the protection provided to them Elys grabs the Hyperborean Ambassador’s arm, which is a personal friend of hers, and says; “We need your help! Let’s get out of here and then we can talk!”

More troops arrive in the capital a day or two after the outbreak of the protests and successfully crushes it. Elys, the Royal Family, the staff and Hyperborean Ambassador however managed to flee to the north where the republican leadership is located. Elys is personally welcomed by Sarney.

“It is a pleasure to finally meet you Ms. Elys.” Barnabas says.

“The same to you Sir Barn- Mr. Sarney.” Elys says “Don’t mind me saying but you are... bigger... than I imagined.”

“And you have a thicker Nemedian accent so I believe we are both surprises to one another.” Barney replies. “I believe you are aware that even after Republican and Confederate forces came together we still lack skill and force to defeat the Regent.”

“Yes I am.” Elys says and then turns to the Hyperborean Ambassador. “My friend... I need you to do me a favour. I need you to contact the IAA back in Vostag and ask them for help, we need weapons, manuals and everything we can get. It is about time for Hedra to enter the modern world, even if it means by force!”

Elys and the leaders of the revolution now wait for the ambassador’s and the IAA’s answer.
