The Hyperborean Empire of Vostag

Hedra wrote:SIC: “Oh! Now? Well… this doesn’t actually go according to protocol but I remember reading that my great-grandfather Tybolt, mostly travelled as an individual rather than a monarch, I think it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Give me a minute.” The Empress rushes to a corner of her office and pulls a hidden lever on the wall which opens a secret room which is filled with clothes and various accessories. She closes the door and quickly changes to a white female suit and skirt, with a matching hat and gloves, she also puts on her favourite diamond earrings and pearl necklace. After a short period of time, she opens the door once again. “Sorry for the delay. Shall we?”

Herkertor chuckles. "Well I meant you and your family can travel with me today, no particular rush. But if you truly wish to travel with me alone and you're sure your husband won't mind it then sure, we can go now if you want." He says as he rises from his seat and he and the Empress leave the palace and Herkertor mounts his motorcycle, offering his helmet for the Empress to wear.

"Hold on tight." Hekertor says as they speed off through the streets and avenues of Seville back to the airport. Once there Hekertor and let's the Empress board the plane while he loads his motorcycle into the cargo bay.

Once finished, Hekertor boards the plane and sits at a seat across a table from the Empress and buckles up. "Sure you don't want to bring anyone else?"

Hekertor chuckles "very well, who am I to convince a lady who knows what she wants?"

And with that the plane taxis onto the runway and takes off. The speed increasing as it heads West across Hedra until it is over the ocean at which point it flies low over the water before entering a steep vertical climb, climbing higher and higher until the plane is far out of sight. Whisking them away into the heavens.

“Wasn’t expecting that…” Elvira says slowly letting go of the arms of her chair. “So, Mr. Hekertor, any tips for a first time traveller to Hyperborea? Wouldn’t want to cause a bad impression.”

The Democratic States of East Niholate Federation

IC/OCC: "U.N.B. Sponsored Space Elevator Project"

After holding negotiations with the nations of Quing Nara and Sovern, it has been decided that both nations will equally finance the construction of a landmark, global project, to make logistics and trade cheaper for every nation in the world. This project has been done before (in alternative universe apparently), but will be considered a landmark decision for all nations part of the global community to easily access, regardless of political ideology, economic model, etc. The U.N.B. will be sponsoring the creation of a space elevator, capable of transporting tons of goods from the planet, to space, and back. It will allow nations to move their technologies or products into the planet's orbit. This space elevator will allow any nation to develop their space programs, explore the solar system, and even aid in the colonization of other planets. Considering that nations are uncomfortable with the proliferation of weapons, the sole condition of this project is the prohibition of transporting weapons by the space elevator, so if a nation wants to send their weapons into outer space, they better do so on their own. This condition was not made by yours truly, but rather by the sponsors of this program. The space elevator will be located in my homeland, the East Niholate Federation, as decided by both parties from Sovern and Quing Nara, as to maintain it in neutral territory, however the property itself will be directly owned by the U.N.B. This does not discourage from other nations willing to finance or build their own space elevator, just this one will be free for every party to use.

The Republic of Oreusa

IC: General Shermon's March

After receiving political and military support from the Neo American Union, President Nexon of Oreusa has decided to annex the territory formerly belonging to Rainbow Republica, a nation that has recently collapsed. In order to maintain the security of the nation, and the continent, Oreusa has dispatched approximately twenty-five thousand soldiers to the recently annexed territory, and will begin the integration process immediately upon occupation. This ambitious plan will bring Oreusa to new heights, with the accessibility to more resources and population. The natives formerly accepted by the last existing state will be given the same protections and rights as they did, with no strings attached. Meanwhile the urban population will begin the naturalization process to become citizens of Oreusa.

The Triarchy of Neo American Union

IC: An American in the West Antilles

A representative on behalf of the The Triumvirate arrives in the West Antilles capital of Porto Ciel, adorning a traditional western black suit, awaiting his counterpart to meet him. The man strongly resembles that of a true red-blooded American, going by the name Saul Goodman, the Secretary of State of the Neo American Union. The man patiently awaits the representative from Kiago, enjoying a fat cigar and drink.

The United Principalities of Aravam

ATTN:

After some time waiting for residents to settle, nations compete, and wars to end - this is the time to update the Global Power Index. Brace yourselves; some of you may feel accomplished, but most of you will cry.

The "Global Power Index" is a tool for the United Nations of Barbaria, to measure a nation's position of Great Powers; which is determined by a nation-state's ability to utilize soft and hard power. A nation-state's position is calculated by military projection, economic influence, and cultural impact on other nation-states on the global stage. Countries that are more active in the international stage are more likely to gain influence, or hold their position as a Great Power, in comparison to a country that is isolated or neutral. The "Ranking Board" will determine the Great Power's influence from highest to lowest in influence. The "Ranking Board" will be amended every six months, or annually, depending on the frequency of change between nation-states.

Ranking Board:

    Great Powers
The Great Powers are the most influential nations in the world, both in terms of hard power and soft power. These major players have the capability to engage in three-front wars, instigate rebellions and insurgencies in other countries, expand cultural and political power beyond their borders, and even sponsor smaller wars between minor powers. The Great Powers compete with each other over who reigns over the world, and will use their financial and military might to enforce whatever status quo the strongest installs. Spheres of influences are built around the Great Powers, and are casually used as pawns in their game of chess. Beware the grasp of these giants.

  • 1. Imperial Federation of Sovern

  • 2. People's Republic of Quing Nara

  • 3. Third Empire of Tritra

  • 4. Federal Empire of Hedra

  • 5. Empire of Helric

    Regional Powers
A Regional Power has either achieved this place in influence by rising from the Minor Powers, or were former Great Powers that can barely hold onto the remnants of their once-powerful dominions. A Regional Power may not have as much influence or diplomatic weight as a Great Power, but they do have significant influence directly around them; making them able to create strong alliances or coalitions against other blocs on the global stage. Regional Powers have the ability to quickly and effectively respond to their immediate neighbors, but don't have the power projection beyond their minute sphere of influence. Remain cautious, and never underestimate them.

  • 6. State of Tyammad

  • 7. Emirate of Valenborn

  • 8. The Neo American Union

  • 9. Second Empire of Mejicanas

  • 10. The Sultanate of Songhai Mali

    Minor Powers
The Minor Powers of the world have the potential to have some influence on the global stage, but don't possess the power projection to influence their neighbors. These countries are economically and politically stable, and are developed enough to be taken serious in some situations or disputes, but their foreign policy is largely dependent on how merciful the stronger powers are, or if they can isolate themselves enough to not even be bothered. One day they might matter, but today they don't.

  • 11. The Holy Barbarian Empire

  • 12. Kiago

  • 13. Democratic Republic of Santamonia

  • 14. The South Ajian Commonwealth

  • 15. Shik Daha

    Isolated/Isolationism
These nations were either once powerful in their own right, or had never possessed the ability to be influential in the first place. They are nothing but the remnants of their former selves, with little to no matter in global politics. This was either the result of a humiliating defeat in war, or voluntarily become cowards; ultimately deciding to 'focus on themselves' while the rest of the world moves on...or bullies them into submission. Don't waste your time with these outcasts.

1. I've updated the ranking system, so please check it out!

2. I subtly edited the descriptions, so please take your time, and read them carefully...I don't want to deal with any snowflakes.

3. Added a new part of the ranking system titled: "Isolated/Isolationism", it should include some nations here who'd much rather watch the world burn, than partake of it.

Hopefully this doesn't trigger widespread wars and instability...

The Commonwealth of Previdonce

IC:

In the capital of Niston, the Parliamentary Council, the upper body of The House of Parliament, has now begun voting on bill 7378, a bill that would finally open relations to the world of Barbaria.

The Chief Executive of the Parliamentary Council, Lester A. Robinson, who is a Freedom Party member, speaks to all in the council.

"I speak for all of my party, to the citizens if our nations when we say, why change what is not broken? Our neutrality within this world is still very much a strategy which ensures our safety and protection. And despite our past troubles, we as a nation have never been so prosperous. So I speak on behalf on all of us when we say, reject this bill."

Despite the words of the Chief, the bill passes successfully 57-43.

The Empire of Limperia

IC:

"DAM IT!"

The nation of Limperia is faced with a crisis; it is not only experiencing a historical record of droughts, but the population is exponentially growing at unsustainable levels. The government, especially the monarch, is worried that a famine might cause significant damage to the country's development, hindering its potential despite recent growth. The fact is; the country is growing too fast and too strong for its own good, that it might collapse on itself if nothing is done about it. The Emperor has made a critical decision, His Highness will be financing the construction of several dams that will allow the reservoirs to fill up, so when the next dry season comes, agricultural production will remain undisturbed by the surplus of water. His Highness' Grand Cabinet confirms that if the project is complete in time, a famine and widespread instability may be averted, and the nation's agricultural sector will get the water it will need for the next decade. However; the consequence of this decision will, at least, cause a dispute with Limperia's neighbor, Agyptus. Building more dams will disturb the flow of the Blue Nile, and even more so the White Nile. This without a doubt will cause friction, due to how desperate both nations are. Despite this, the Emperor must do what's best for his people, as they are his priority.

The Federal Empire of Hedra

IC: The Algarve Affair

In the golden-hued afternoon of Porto Real, the coastal winds blow soflty through the city as the Prince of Ferragudo, Don Vasco, ventures into the heart of the Algarves. Vasco is always in the company of his most trusted guards and, of course, the prettiest women. The Prince of Ferragudo mostly travels to get away from his dominating mother and father. This is the last day of his 5 days visit to the Algarves and he looks for a good time as he always does.

During his stroll, Don Vasco finds himself standing before the gilded doors of a renowned brothel called Madame L’Amour. Vasco smile extends from cheek to cheek as he says to his companions.

“Gentlemen, feel free to put the bill on my name.”

Inside, the air was thick with the scent of perfume and desire. Don Vasco's gaze swept over the elegantly adorned courtesans, their laughter mingling with the strains of distant music. Some of the people inside simply ignore his presence, the ladies, however, do their best to get his attention as they know that he pays generously for their services. Some perform curtseys with their breasts exposed and walk away touching his chin and to direct his gaze towards them.

He takes a seat at a table on a dark corner with the perfect view, he and his companions order a few drinks and slowly they are taken away by the workers to take care of their needs. He calls over one of the waiters, he engages her in polite conversation, his voice a soothing melody amidst the cacophony of desires.

"Tell me love, how can I talk with your boss?" His gaze lingering on her features.

Votre Altesse wishes to talk to Madame?” With a knowing smile, the lady gestures towards a discreet door at the far end of the room, adorned with the distinguished Husser Coat of Arms. Don Vasco's brow furrowed slightly, a flicker of recognition dancing in his eyes.

Steeling himself, he approached the door and knocked gently, the sound echoing in the quietude.

Entre!” a mature raspy female voice speaks out.

Pushing open the door, Don Vasco found himself face to face with an elderly lady, she wears a large leopard print fur coat matched with a hat adorned with feathers, her hair is dyed red. She has an elegant appearance almost regal.

The lady takes her sometime to recognise him but once she does, she performs the most perfect curtsey Vasco has ever seen, fit for a princess. “Altesse, it is my pleasure to have you here in my establishment. I hope everything here is up to standard, Tybolt used to tell me to keep these standards up and the customers would come.”

“You knew my great-great-grandfather?” Vasco asks slowly walking around her office. He notices a large portrait of King Julien Husser I hanging on the hall. “A Tritran monarchist?”

Moi?!” the lady laughs, “That’s my grandfather. I have nothing to do with that place anymore, spent most of my life here in Hedra, if anything I’m more Hedran than Tritran nowadays.”

“Your… grandfather?” Vasco says under his breath as he slowly pieces everything together. “You are Feline Husser…”

She opens her arms. “In the flesh. Well… there are a few missing parts.” She says while gesturing below her waist. “What brings you here? Wait. No need to answer. You are from Tybolt’s family, that already explains it.”

Vasco shrugs and nods in agreement.

“Well, I won’t hold you here much longer. When you are done with everything you have to do, I’ll take care of your bill. When all that’s done, we can talk about everything you want to, I don’t like talking to clients when their… needs… have yet to be taken care of.” Feline says with a nod.

Vasco nods back lost in his words.

“Bonbon!” Feline yells out.

A beautiful woman with short blonde hair, blue eyes and a seductive smile stands at the door wearing a transparent robe. “Oui, Madame?

“Take the Prince of Ferragudo to the Emperor’s Suite. He is an old family friend, so take good care of him.” Feline says.

Bonbon smiles and walks towards Vasco taking his hand leading him away. She takes him to the Emperor’s Suite.

As they enter the Emperor’s Suite, massive double doors adorned with intricate carvings and gilded accents greets them, hinting at the lavishness within. A soft, golden glow emanates from elegant chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings, casting a warm and inviting ambiance throughout the space.

At the center of the room sits an imposing four-poster bed, crafted from rich mahogany wood and draped with layers of sumptuous silk and velvet fabrics in royal shades of deep crimson and gold. The headboard is adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes of conquest and triumph, paying homage to imperial power and prestige.

The bed is dressed in the finest linens, with sheets made from the best cotton boasting a high thread count for unparalleled softness and comfort. Plush feather pillows and a down-filled duvet invite restful slumber, while intricately embroidered throws add an extra layer of warmth and luxury. Surrounding the bed are elegant bedside tables crafted from polished marble, each adorned with golden accents and topped with ornate lamps casting a soft, ambient glow. A regal chaise lounge upholstered in velvet sits nearby, offering a plush seating option for relaxation or contemplation.

The walls of the bedroom are adorned with exquisite tapestries and paintings depicting scenes of imperial grandeur, but most explicitly scenes depicting Vasco’s ancestors most intimate moments. Gilded mirrors in elaborate frames reflect the room's decadent furnishings, creating a sense of space and luminosity.

Vasco stands astonished at how lavish the room is. As he keeps turning around checking every detail in the room, he finds himself face to face with a marble bust of Emperor Tybolt. Vasco shivers a bit from the thought of him watching and slowly turn the bust so it faces the wall.

After an hour or two Vasco descends the staircase and returns to Feline’s office.

“I know a satisfied customer when I see one.” Feline says as she pours two glasses of wine. She hands Vasco one and sits down in front of him. “So what do you want to talk about Altesse?”

Vasco takes a sip of his wine and lays back on his chair. “Well Madame.”

“You can call me Feline.”

“Very well. Feline. I would like to get a piece of this place and it’s action.”

“A piece? Kid you just got a handful and still want more?”

“You know what I mean. I believe a few Cruzeiros being thrown in here could go a long way.”

“You really want to associate the crown to my brothel?”

“Tybolt did it.”

“No, he did not. He came here from time to time after Cerelle died, never invested any money in this place.”

“So I’ll do it in complete secrecy.” Vasco replies finishing his wine.

“Listen, kid. I admire your willingness to invest money in my place but doing so would only throw both our reputations in the bin. Imagine it, an elderly hermaphrodite brothel owner and the heir to the Crown working together. Let’s do the following, you want to help me? Spend your own money on the stuff you consume here, pay some of the girls to go out with you, pay them to go to your parties and things like that. Your parents will not enjoy that but I believe you don’t care about what others will think about you or the things you do.”

Vasco smiles. “Then it’s a deal?”

Feline shakes his hand. “Deal.”

Vasco leaves her office and returns to his table that it’s still empty as his companion still haven’t returned. He looks around the room and spots an elderly gentleman sat at a lonely table next to him.

“Excuse me.” Vasco says.

The gentleman turns his head toward the Prince.

“Sorry to bother you but I ordered a champagne bottle and my friends still aren’t here. I would like to know if you would like to share a glass or two while watching the show, I hate to drink by myself.”

The elderly man chuckles and stands up. “Sure thing. I know the feeling, when I was young I also hated to drink alone but when you get to my age and everyone else is dead, you don’t have many options.”

Vasco chuckles. “Great sense of humor.”

The man sits by Vasco’s side facing the stage.

“Vasco.” Vasco extends his hand for a handshake.

The man shakes it. “Joaquim.”

Vasco pours two glasses of champagne and they toast.

“First time here your Highness?” Joaquim asks.

“Yes. You?”

“Me? Oh no. I come here almost everyday for almost a century, when I first started to come here, this place was just a bar with some apartments on top.” Joaquim says as he lights up a cigarette.

“Woah. So you are incredibly old.” Vasco replies.

“Thank you.” Joaquim jokingly replies.

“Hope that when I get to your age I’ll be still having fun like this.” Vasco says.

“Well kid, as a wise man once said to me ‘A little foolishness, enough to enjoy life, and a little wisdom to avoid the errors, that will do.’.”

They both stare at the stage as the lights dim and the modern music cuts out. The spotlights turn to Feline Husser who stands center stage.

Mesdames et messieurs, bienvenue! I hope you are all enjoying your evening. I am honoured to have you all here with us and I am honoured to present the main attraction of the night… Marina de La Riva!” Feline says turning around as the curtains opens to reveal a small band and the lead singer, Marina de La Riva.

The ladies of the room each grab a one of the place’s patrons and takes them to dance floor, including Vasco which leaves Joaquim as the only one at the table. The band starts to play and the people follow up dancing.

Porto Real, Algarves - 1930s

Porto Real nestled along the picturesque coastline of Algarves, Portugal, like a gem tucked into the azure embrace of the Atlantic Ocean. As the morning sun cast its golden hues across the horizon, the town awoke to the gentle lullaby of waves crashing against weathered stone docks. Fishing boats, adorned with colorful banners fluttering in the breeze, bobbed rhythmically in the harbor, their hulls glistening with the morning dew.

Narrow cobblestone streets wound their way through the heart of Porto Real, flanked by whitewashed buildings adorned with intricate azulejo tiles depicting scenes of seafaring adventures and vibrant floral motifs. Wooden shutters creaked open, revealing glimpses of life within as the aroma of freshly baked bread and brewed coffee mingled with the salty sea air.

Along the waterfront promenade, bustling markets sprung to life, where fishermen proudly displayed their morning catch - shimmering silver sardines, plump octopus, and succulent crustaceans piled high on ice. Locals haggled jovially over the day's bounty, their laughter blending with the melodic strains of music echoing from nearby taverns.

Children scampered along the sandy shores, their laughter mingling with the cries of seagulls soaring overhead. Beach umbrellas dotted the shoreline, offering shelter to sun-kissed families as they savored the warmth of the Mediterranean sun and the cool embrace of the salty sea.

A young man of just 19 years of age rides the tram with a recently bought record in his hands. He watches the pedestrians walk by and takes off his hat to greet the ones that wave to him, he gets to his stop where he jumps off the tram and rushes toward a bar entrancd with two other young men about his age waiting for him. One is incredibly tall, measuring about 1,93m, he has also very light skin and blue eyes suggesting an almost “pure” Rodinian heritage, while the other is more average in height with a darker skin complexion suggesting he descends from Zothiqueans who were most likely slaves in a recent past.

“About time you showed up Joaquim.” The tall man says.

“Will you shut up Amadeu?” Joaquim replies.

“Is that the record you chose?” The one with darker skin asks.

“Wow! What made you think that André?!” Joaquim asks with clear sarcasm.

They all chuckle and enter the bar. The building that several years into the future would be turned into the Madame L’Amour. The bar itself is completely empty with the only customers being Joaquim, Amadeu and André, the trio sits at their usual table that overlooks the rest bar. Paulo, the bar owner, brings a bottle of their favourite beer, Caracu, three glasses and also some peanuts for them to eat and, as always, the first one is on the house. Joaquim hands Paulo his newly acquired record.

Paulo puts it on the gramophone and plays it.

https://youtu.be/B7iO1tCN5i4?si=FOQLbCMFAFLbDwXN

“Where did you get that?” Amadeu asks.

“Some ships from the Guyana arrived at the harbour and some folks where selling them at the local market.” Joaquim replies.

“I much prefer to hear foxtrot or the jazz they are making over in Newfoundland.” André says.

“That’s because you prefered that your great-grandparents were sent their instead of here.” Joaquim says drinking his beer.

André laughs. “I’ll give you that one.”

Joaquim reaches into the pocket of his vest and pulls out a small notebook and pencil, just before he starts to write Amadeu snatches the pencil from his hand and André grabs the notebook.

“Don’t you f#@king start with this poetry business as we are drinking.” Amadeu says as he puts the pencil inside his coat.

“Because once you start writing you get all dramatic and sad about that girl who left you.” André says.

“It’s poetry! It must have a sentimental effect to it!” Joaquim defends himself.

“Oh? Does it? Let’s take a look then.” André says slowly opening the notebook.

Joaquim slaps his face and grabs the notebook back. “Don’t test me.”

André rubs his cheeks turning to Joaquim, after a brief moment of silence André punches Joaquim right on the face and goes to jump across the table but Paulo pulls him back.

“You three know the rules. Obey them!” Paulo says in an authoritarian tone.

Joaquim and André nod at each other to settle this dispute and apologize to each other.

“So, what are you two going to do later?” Joaquim asks as he pours himself and his friends a beer.

“I will grab a few books at the library and study, I have a test later this week.” Amadeu says.

“I need to help my father at the bakery, he has a large order for tomorrow and wants me to spend the rest of the day and night making sweets.” André says.

“What about you Joaquim?” Amadeu asks.

Joaquim lays back on his chair smiling. “Well gentleman, I’ll stay here because I have nothing to do all day.”

“Lucky.” André says.

Paulo walks over again holding a camera.

“Where did you get that?” Amadeu asks.

“One gentleman upstairs said it was broken, I asked if I could have it so he gave it to me. I took it to one of my cousins that fixes this kind of stuff and had it fixed for free. Want a picture?” Paulo asks.

“Sure. Take a picture of this moment so these two idiot faces can be saved forever.” Joaquim says.

They all chuckle and look towards the camera.

Paulo takes the picture. “Done. Later on I’ll give this to you Joaquim.”

After an hour of talking and drinking, Amadeu and André stand up, say their farewells to Joaquim and leave the bar. Joaquim sighs and drinks his beer alone. Few minutes pass and Paulo returns with a larger version of the picture he took from the three young men.

He hands it to Joaquim. “You know kid, one of these days you will have slow down.”

“What do you mean?”

“Go out there, get a decent job, find a nice girl, form a family, that kind of thing. You are my best client, no doubt there, but you spending most of your time here will do you no good. My old man used to say: ‘[/i]A little foolishness, enough to enjoy life, and a little wisdom to avoid the errors, that will do.[/i]’. The advice is for free, the beers you had alone are going in your tab, I expect payment at the end of the week.”

“But-“

“End of the week!”

Joaquim chuckles and looks at the picture while listening to the record he brought, alone.

The Third Empire of Tritra

IC: Hégémon de Sang

To officially bound the Tritran and Trijon people as one, Emperor Napolean Babineaux-Ion II. has arranged the marriage with Lady Júlia Blanc of Trijon, the last living relative of Vigur - the former King of Trijon. This marriage symbolizes the combination of historical lands, united under one banner, and one dynasty. Despite the significance of the wedding, it was reserved as a private event with only family members witnessing. Not before long though, the new royal couple will be traveling to a remote part of the country for their honeymoon, where hopefully an heir to the throne can be consummated under God. In the meantime; while the royals are secured in their romance, the highest ranking Nobles have been ordered to aid in the security of the Barbarian Sea, by reinforcing their positions, by stationing an additional three fleets from Nice, to the Calagon Isles just south of southern Tritra. These islands will not only be the Empire's naval stronghold in the Barbarian Sea, but a platform for RU allies to station their own fleets, garrisons, in order to ensure Rodinian dominance in the region. This pressure is a new tactic being organized with the Soverns, in order to counter Submettan aggression, but taken discretely as a rally point for Tritra's ambitions. While tensions around the world steadily mount, Tritran forces have begun quietly building up their presence, for the untimely preparation of a major invasion...

The Monarchist Republic of Kiago

Neo American Union wrote:IC: An American in the West Antilles

A representative on behalf of the The Triumvirate arrives in the West Antilles capital of Porto Ciel, adorning a traditional western black suit, awaiting his counterpart to meet him. The man strongly resembles that of a true red-blooded American, going by the name Saul Goodman, the Secretary of State of the Neo American Union. The man patiently awaits the representative from Kiago, enjoying a fat cigar and drink.

A limo appears in front, stepping out is Prince Andy Richard Vormente and Grand Royal Husband Ryan Theodore Vormente. They both get out of the back of the limo, and Grand Royal Husband Ryan Theodore Vormente extends his hand out.

"Good day Mr. Goodman! How do you do on this fine day?" Asks Ryan."

The Kingdom of Bortavia

Breaking News! ~ "KING HANS ASSASSINATED!"

Upon visiting his local favorite cafe in the capital, King Hans III. was ambushed by an assailant on his route, opening fire at him in public, and shooting the King five times in the face, before successfully fleeing the scene. The local police were not able to locate the suspect, but were somehow able to accuse him of looking like a "typical Bugradolvan" - which has without a doubt sparked outrage in the Bortavian community. Not only is the country in emotional turmoil over their leader being murdered, but it doesn't help that the throne is being actively disputed over by the late King's twin sons, Prince Paul II. and Prince Donovan III. who've grown up competing not only for their father's love, but also his crown. The people are worried that the "Twin Princes" will likely cause a civil war within the country, and force the two halves of their community to fight each other. In his first public appearance, Prince Paul II. has boldly claimed that the Kingdom of Greater Bugradolva collaborated with the Rodinian Union, to assassinate King Hans III. and de-stabilize Bortavia by putting Prince Donovan III. on the throne as their puppet regime. Meanwhile; Prince Donovan III. has made it clear that he solely wishes to unify the Bortavian people, and join the Rodinian Union so the nation can prosper after centuries of decline...

Bortavian Civil War: Prelude to War

Twenty-three years ago, in the capital city of Farvon, the halls of the Anmar Palace are busy with the bustling traffic of servants and nobles, rushing to the internal quarters of the royal family. In the distance the cries of labor can be heard from every corridor, echoing the pain of birthing the heirs of a nation. Unfortunately, the cries would end due to disaster. While giving birth to her sons, the late Queen died from exerting herself during childbirth. The doctors were forced to save the heirs of a nation, at the cost of a national heroine. The nation and her people were devastating, but no one was more hurt than Hans III. the late King of the time. Despite the loss of his wife, God gave him two remarkably beautiful sons. In Bortavian culture, twins can either be a sign of luck, or catastrophe.

Twenty-three years later, the country is slowly falling into the status of civil war, with both Princes claiming the throne for their own reasons. Meanwhile, there is no King ruling the nation, causing widespread instability and a power struggle between the nobility and commoners. For weeks nothing was done until Prince Paul II. launched a successful attack on a noble stronghold tied to their loyalty to Prince Donovan III. This victory has paved way for Paul to commit his advance westward, forcing the loyalists to Prince Donovan III. to the defense. To gain more support, Prince Paul II. pleads to the Hyperborean Empire of Vostag for weapons, medicine, and food.
