The Commonwealth of New Amerikan Republic is a large, efficient nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, strictly enforced bedtime, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 50 million New Amerikan Republicians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The tiny, pro-business government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Industry, Administration, and Law & Order also on the agenda, while International Aid and Spirituality aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 7.3%.

The all-consuming New Amerikan Republician economy, worth 4.42 trillion dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Gambling industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is 88,339 dollars, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 499,991 per year while the poor average 7,647, a ratio of 65.4 to 1.

Saying that someone looks a bit pale can be construed as hate speech, dictionary sales have hit an all-time high, women who walk into the ladies' changing room are accused of being Peeping Toms, and online terrorists are automatically assigned adverts for cheap balaclavas. Crime is a serious problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. New Amerikan Republic's national animal is the hyena, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
