The Borderlands of Puv is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by algorithm with a fair hand, and remarkable for its avant-garde cinema, national health service, and stringent health and safety legislation. The frighteningly efficient Puvian economy, worth 298 trillion credits a year, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Retail, and Beef-Based Agriculture. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 115,036 credits, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Thieves claim they're simply working for the tax agency, droves of former desperados are applying to join the border police, manufacturers of biodegradable plastics have to wait for months to show evidence of organic decomposition, and guilt tripped foreigners heavily dictate child hunger in Puv. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Puv's national animal is the firefly, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
