This just in that in British Columbia, the western-most and a very important province in Canada, there is a new LNG pipeline that is to be built, backed by the provincial and federal government. This is happening in the north of the province however, the hereditary leaders of the Wet'suwet'en indigenous group has denied the construction of the pipeline on their land.
This has sparked many debates and the RCMP, the police of Canada have even went inside their land and tried to forcefully resolve the situation, but they were forced back in vain. The Wet'suwet'en created a railway blockage in their land so that trains cannot pass through it, slowing the economy as a sign of protest. The provincial government wants the pipeline to go through at any cost and so do the federal.
The Mohawk indigenous group in Ontario followed suit with the idea of a rail blockage as a sign of protest and joined their friends in B.C. By this, the PM Justin Trudeau has had enough and calls it unacceptable but this only sparked more protests in big cities like Vancouver and Toronto by sympathizers and supporters of the Wet'suwet'en. This is currently going on and is a huge issue in B.C. and in Canada. The federal government is currently having talks as you read this with the Wet'suwet'en as they agreed to hold talks. It is the second day of the talks so far, but with no progress and the support and protests increasing in favor of the Wet'suwet'en.

In the name of environmentalism and Indigenous peoples around the world, this injustice has to stop now and the world and its people must look towards the future rather than destroying it and living in luxury right now.
