Illegal Speke Bird Breeding ring raided by the Speke Federal Investigation Force (SFIF)

Today, an illegal exotic bird breeding business has been raided by the SFIF and has been fined over £42,328,563 and all members of the operation jailed for 20 years in prison.

The business sold over 19,320 illegally bred exotic birds including macaws, hawks, cockatiels, budgies & doves during 2020 which earned them over £750,000 in the past year tax free, not including additional sales such as cages, food, etc.

The 26 members of the operation will be appearing in court on May 30th to be further sentenced.

Vote on Bill C.146
Early this morning, Congress voted on Bill C.146, which was a proposal to place economic sanctions on the Duchy of Krenya for their attempted market manipulation via increased oil production. The Bill received 167 votes in favor, and 133 votes against, meaning it passed. The main opposition to Bill C.146 was from members of Congress who felt it did not go far enough to punish Krenya for their actions. With the President signing it into law around noon, the Demokratische Republik has officially increased its tariffs on oil imported from The krenya. While it is unlikely the Junterlandian government will do more to act on the Krenyan Oil Crisis, talks have been circulating in the halls of Congress for a bill to subsidize the electric car market.

Krenyan Government raises oil production

As a way to eliminate competition in the oil market, The Royal Krenyan government has decided to increase its oil production from yearly 650m barrels to a whopping 765m barrels of oil a year.

As per the Finance dept, the increase in oil production would help krenya secure a larger share in the oil market and will secure more percentages of the total oil revenue gained across anteria, after a couple of years.

Krenya further increases production of oil

In the face of the ongoing crisis, The Duchy has decided to increase its daily oil output from 2.09 million barrels per day to a whooping 2.12 million barrels per day.

Many in the parliament have been questioning this sudden increase in supply and production to that of a brutal game of elimination of foreign competition, to which the ruling party has placed no comments into. The duke has said that these increases in oil production have nothing to do with competition elimination, but rather, to fulfil the needs of the growing population of the continents krenya exports its oil to, as a result, the Duke has finished his statements with, "The Oil production will not slow down until the royal government thinks that it should, and at this point the government doesnt thinks that we should reduce our production of oil by any bit".

Eszta Sunday sees celebrations across the Principate.

Outside the governmental and law area, in the mad population is continuing to get madder, the Vultesian Embassy is being protected at all cost by the Gerkoller National Guard and police officers in Gerkoller (the country royal capital), after an incident where students that have Vultesian origin were harassed and attacked on their way to school. What started as an ordinary rally voicing discontent with James Hoffman and the Chancellor, quickly escalated into a historic moment for Arollia.

The protestors decided to march on the Supreme Court and make their stance clear. Along the way, their numbers grew from the hundreds into the thousands. At 3:04 pm on the 2nd of May, they were in sight of the building. But unfortunately for them, the fight wasn't going to be an easy one. On the other end of the main street leading to the Court, armed police were standing ready to take drastic measures if necessary. This was enough for some protestors, who decided to turn the other way, but most remained, determined to make their stand.

They moved closer and closer to the police, slowly but steadily. But as they were approaching, Lieutenant Hans Schauer of the Lubeck Anti Riot Police Detachment shouted: "Ladies and gentlemen! Please, you don't need to make this harder for yourself. You've made your point. Now, go back home, to your families, friends and loved ones. We don't want to fight with you, we're your allies! But if need be, we will act upon our duty".

But this only motivated the protestors to get closer. They took another seven or nine steps until the Lieutenant snapped at them once more. "Please, this is your final warning, back off now or we'll be forced to shoot!".

Another couple of protestors turned back, more than last time in fact, but also like last time, most still remained. They drew nearer and nearer until it happened.

"Soldiers, get ready! Aim! Fire!" shouted Schauer at the armed anti riot police. But, even though they did aim down their sights, most at least, none pulled the trigger. Terror suddenly engulfed the young Lieutenant, he knew this would happen one day, but now was possibly the worst possible time. He tried to speak once more, with a voice that commanded attention and discipline, but the phrase that came out of his mouth was only spoken in a low, shy voice; 'Soldiers, I said fire".

It was then that he finally realised that this was bigger than him, and that he better get out of there before it got too ugly. But it was too late for our poor Schauer. One of the soldiers turned his gun, pointed it at the Schauer and pulled the trigger.

And that shot was one that our nation and the world will remember for years to come.

Layfetian Congress narrowly defeats loans and Krenyan investment deal. Bakyern deal heading to the Residence

Congress vote narrowly to turn down two loan offers given by Bretislavia and Krenya, both being voted down 52-48 in the Senate and 171-154 in the House. Most lawmakers agreeing with the statement made by Senator Rupert Harris (C-TH) that the interest rates proposed on the loans were "too damn high!" Krenya offered a separate investment deal and a lower amount of money, however due to the recent Krenya Oil Crisis, Congress became skeptically of Krenya's rising economic bubble and thus voted 55-45 in the Senate and 201-124 in the House to turn down the deal. Zhousheng can not stand for this actions, and neither it should. We will not be supporting The krenya in their process of destroying systematically their economy, we will stay out of it. And to all who are still wavering about their decision: If you act now and show, that the actions done by The krenyan government would not be tolerated, you not only save other fellow Anterian countries, but you save The krenya itself. In 30 or 40 years, after the resources are depleted, there will either be a strong country which operated wisely with the thinning reserves, or there will be no country at all. And lately, the latter is more and more likely and the former is becoming more distant.
And therefore, here is TOP 5 of why The krenya's biggest threat is The krenya:
1: The future development:
The oil is irreversibly depleting. The current estimates show, that there would be about 30-55 years in which we could be consuming it left. By lowering the cost of the barrel, you encourage bigger consuption and in the meantime, you push more investment to the sector. That means, that your investments are not only expensive, but also are themselves shortening the span in which they are usable. The moment you hit the peak of the oil curve, most of this infrastructure becomes redundant and you just lost billions of ACU in investment. In short: You would lose money just because you invested more money in a shorter timeframe, which leaves you with less
2: Oil loses value
Oil is valuable only when people buy it. People do not like you messing around with oil prices, you would end up with barrels of unsellable oil which would slowly go rancid and would lose most of its value. You know, you would only lose a portion of your resources and get nothing in return
3: People get angry
If any country in Anteria tampered with a oil prices, not only would other oil exporting countries be angry, but so would their allies and allies of that allies. Simply said, escalate this longer and you may find yourself outside the Sekidean Union and in the middle of a Anteria-wide game of "Let's hate The krenyans"
4. Infrastructure costs a lot
The oil wells are not only the equipment, but the connections, electric grid safeguarding it, transport pipes, ports for oil tankers etc. Not only the increase of oil mining will lower the safety of those wells, but so will it overwhealm communications which are not ready for it. You are risking excessive logistical issues, catastrophes on mining wells and overwhelmed ports, railroad hubs and oil pipeline storages
5. People will get angry
Don't forget you are not a full democracy, although you love to be seeming as a defender of the righteous values. Your unelected leader has all the executive power and can not be impeached. If people notice that their living standards have decreased, the leader is rushing the economy to a early grave, and The krenya is literally entering a cold war against all of Anteria, you may very well see people stick some royal heads on a bunch of sticks

A new republic born : Vorkuria
After the requests of the vorkurians , an ethnicity of the federation, the president of the federation Bernard Volkov decided to make a new republic to give to the vorkurians a home : the republic of Vorkuria, bring the number of the republics from 22 to 23, the vorkurians are very happy for this resolution and finally they have a new home.
