Trotterdam wrote:With a puppet? You have no contributions listed on Black Ships.

Yeah. With a handful of other puppets, depending on what stat was needed. This nation is not one of my main nations, so the stats are only so-so. And, though I never fully figured it out, it was clear that higher stats in areas helped with particular resources. So I shuffled between five or six nations. For example, Dungeon was my go-to for metal and chemicals.

Even so, my combined contributions don't come near your total of ~14K. Maybe around four or five thousand, if I were to guess.

I contributed to the "horizontal tower" over in my home region of Refugia. It was pretty fun. Sadly lacking in cute animals, despite the high number of professed furries that reside there :P

Trotterdam wrote:There doesn't seem to be a way to get a list of all nations that contributed to a wonder, even though you can get a list of all wonders that a nation contributed to.

I really hope they do include such a feature. It would be really nice to see everyone who contributed to each wonder. If, for no other reason, it would make folks feel good for being recognized as having done their part.

Also, the crafting stats could be similarly compiled and advertised. That was a massive amount of work. Much harder, in my opinion, than the puzzles (which I came to actually enjoy).

The Laser-Wielding Commune of Intergalactic Penguins

Happy to help, even in a small way :)

I was just happy I got to make a Flux Capacitor before the end!

The Apocalypse of GeodesicDragon

Glad I could help, even if work ended up getting in the way and prevented me from doing as much as I hoped.

Clever!

As a bit of trivia, here's the amount of resources I got per puzzle, not counting bonuses:
Logistics: 12-13
Knowledge: 13-14
Chemicals: 10-11
Textiles: 12-13
Food: 9-10
Metal: 5
Wood: 11-12
Stone: 7-8
And here's all the bonuses I got at least once, which seems to correlate reasonably well with the normal yield and gives a hint as to which census scores were relevant:

Your country's penchant for travel itineraries produces you an additional Logistics Resource!
Your demonstration of power produces you an additional Logistics Resource!
Your efficient military produces you an additional Logistics Resource!
Your paranoia that something might go wrong produces you an additional Logistics Resource!

Your high-tech industry produces you an additional Knowledge Resource!
Your intelligent populace produces you an additional Knowledge Resource!
Your love for books and publications produces you an additional Knowledge Resource!
Your world-class education system produces you an additional Knowledge Resource!

Your well-funded health sector produces you an additional Chemicals Resource!

Your fast fashion culture produces you an additional Textiles Resource!
Your manufacturing subsidies increase business productivity and produces you an additional Textiles Resource!

Your strong agricultural industry produces you an additional Food Resource!
Your world-renowned cheese manufacturers produce you an additional Food Resource!

Melting spare currency earned by your strong gambling industry produces you an additional Metal Resource!

Recycling furniture offcuts produces you an additional Wood Resource!
Your beautiful environment produces you an additional Wood Resource!
Your strong timber industry produces you an additional Wood Resource!

Decomissioning an old cathedral produces you an additional Stone Resource!
Your strong mining industry produces you an additional Stone Resource!

My people are geniuses. I ended up generating so much knowledge as bonuses that I constantly ended up having more of it than any other resource, without even needing to deliberately generate it. The only time I deliberately generated any significant amounts of knowledge were at the very beginning of the event (before I understood what the different resources were for) and at the very end (when it was too late to craft anything new, and I just wanted to dump in as many raw resources as possible to drive up my ranking).

I asked for it on the forum, but no response so far. There hasn't even been a news post announcing that the event is over yet.

They were fun at first. After several hours straight of constantly answering near-identical-looking puzzles to stockpile resources for making a legendary (3840 total!)... twice... I was growing kind of tired of them. Though on the plus side, I can now solve kakuro puzzles in my sleep. Almost literally.

In a way, it's arguably a good thing that I did most of the work myself. That's how I qualified for #1 in Most Effort.

Still, that was exhausting. Gonna spend the next few days napping. Zzzzz...

Thanks for passing all that along. I never made notes on all of the different notices that were accompanying resource generation, so it was cool to see it all laid out. There's often fun writing on this site, and this event was certainly no exception. Some time I'm going to pour through the database of recipes for all of the different combinations. Sometimes I would get a laugh at the surprise result of crafting items together. Really creative stuff.

"Art Museum + Bunch of Smashed Pots = Modern Art Masterpiece" is one of the ones that I guessed at before I saw it confirmed. Made me think "yeah, sounds about right".

The Vermillion Republic of Urmanian

I got 9-10 + 1-2 bonus resources for pretty much every category. Would be interesting to see the background calculations for that.

The Principality of Trotterdam

WE GOT MENTIONED IN A NEWS POST!!!

And not just as an entry in a dry list, either, but the poster actually gave roleplayed descriptions of all of the top seven wonders.

Noahs Second Country wrote:5. Panda Petting Zoo: Perhaps the most impressive wonder constructed and maintained primarily by a single nation, this magical experience delivers a ZOO FULL OF PANDAS! You can PET THEM! To add to the cuteness factor, they are taken care of by PEGASI! Sorry, this place is just too cute... well maybe not the angry volcano god trapped inside of an increasingly animated eternal flame. It must have taken a ton of effort to get that thing in there.

In past events such as Zombie Wrap Up, even when our region did well, we never quite did well enough compared to the bigger regions to receive any official acknowledgement. It's long been a goal of mine to try to get mentioned in a NationStates news post. Finally, mission accomplished!

The post also lists me as having generated the single most resources of any nation, though this accomplishment falls flat when even a cursory examination of the actual nations in question shows that this is inaccurate. I should take some satisfaction in the fact that the only nation to beat me has a Mickey Mouse flag. Cuteness still reigns supreme.

Since you happened to mention me, I'm here to point out that those pages are inaccurate, you are indeed the best contributor. See nation=noahs_second_country/page=wonder, for example. Great work!

side note: I'm not an RP writer by any means, so I hope that the entry for you I wrote is appropriate :)

I loved it :)

I mean, I do picture our eternal flame as being not quite that ominous and largely panda-powered, comfortably warm rather than dangerous (I chose that legendary mainly because I find pandas to have a "fiery" color scheme: fire-red, soot-black, shining-white - of course, real-life animals don't have elemental affinities, but if pandas were Pokémon, I'm convinced they'd totally be Fire-type). But honestly, capturing an angry volcano god and teaching it the true meaning of friendship is on-theme for a pony nation, so it's possible we did that too.

Everything else is pretty much spot-on to how I imagined it, and I'm very happy to be the only wonder that got you excited enough to use all-caps. (BASE doesn't count, it's an acronym.) We have all but one of the post's exclamation points, too.

The Pony Principality of Princess Luna

That really is fantastic.
