The People's Republic of Diamatiya | Hey, guys. I'm a novice ML who seeks to learn more about the DPRK. A little about me: I'm a second-generation Lebanese American who has a lot of family back home, so I'm pretty knowledgeable about the MENA region. Opposing Israel and Western involvement in the area has always been important to me, but over the last few years I've sought to learn more about why things are the way they are and create a more coherent worldview. It has been amazing to see how much more the world makes sense to me than it did before. I was ML-sympathetic long before that, though. In fact, some of my cousins are comrades!

The People's Republic of Diamatiya | People who say that the dozens of countries backing China on Hong Kong and Xinjiang are doing so just because they owe China are so close, yet so far... it's almost like the very reason for China being demonized is that it's providing alternatives to Western hegemony!
The Communist Proletarian Union of Carrico | Comrades, I have just submitted my new World Assembly proposal. It is titled "The Freedom of Socialist Association Act". I would love to get your feedback. I am trying to spread the word to see if it will be approved as legal for a vote and then also receive enough approvals from delegates. You can find it here: page=UN_view_proposal/id=carrico_1618282317 Thanks!

Yunqi | hello comrades | |
The Council Republic of Zulanka in NK | Welcome new comrades joining the region! Feel free to introduce yourself, discuss or share links related to your political views, current events, history, etc. We are a quieter region than some as North American Communists notes but we strive for high quality discussions and content on the RMB! Many of us here have been on NationStates for a long time so questions about NS are welcome as well. If you're interested in the limited military gameplay NS offers or want to help oppose fascism while you're here feel free to telegram me about joining the Korean Peoples Army.
The Council Republic of Zulanka in NK | The Ideology of Late Imperialism The Return of the Geopolitics of the Second International ...When some leftists deny or give up the Marxist theory of imperialism, capitalism becomes a vibrant evolving system without end instead of a system of decay and parasitism. Thus, they often become unable to see the revolutionary potential in much of the world. Since capitalism seems invincible and socialism and communism seem completely out of reach, it is not surprising that Second International politics are permeating this general atmosphere of disillusion. https://monthlyreview.org/2021/03/01/the-ideology-of-late-imperialism/

Yunqi | Awesome quote from an article I gotta read now! "Third Camp" or "both sides are equally bad" leftists make the mistake of equating those fighting imperialism with those fighting to preserve it. Even Trotsky (and I am by no means a trot lol he deserved the picc) said something to the effect of "If Britain attacked the fascistic government of Brazil [Bolsonaro prediction?], Marxists have the responsibility, especially in Britain, to oppose their imperialist government primarily, not to slander or attack the other side or equate them"
The Council Republic of Zulanka in NK | That's a great observation! If you take Trotsky at his word as orthodox Trotskyists do, "third campists" indeed are taking a position to his right and breaking with any fidelity to a basic Leninist line on the topic (ex: Lenin's comments about socialists playing into imperialist intrigue in his Theses for an Appeal to the International Socialist Committee and All Socialist Parties that your Trotsky quote is essentially restating). To borrow some of their language, "third campists" are basically degenerated Trots. As mentioned in the Washington nor Beijing article, many "third campists" were advocates of the state capitalism thesis for AES which Trotsky dismisses in The Class Nature of the Soviet State and later ortho Trots like Ernest Mandel dissect at length. It's unfortunate then that these positions have become distinct markers for Trots in the Anglophone world; even as a critic of Trotskyism it's clear these "third campists" have little in common with the traditions of Trotskyism or Marxism in general.
Yunqi | (OOC) Liberalism is a helluva drug in the West unfortunately haha which is why we must always be aware of the need to combat it, as Mao wrote about. I experienced the corrosion of unity, clique-ishness, and utopianism that liberalism brings to what should be revolutionary groups in the USA years ago, it is very much a hindrance to getting real work done to benefit the people

Yunqi | (OOC) Does anyone here think there's hope of constructive talks between North and South Korea again anytime soon, or did that ship sail with the collapse of their bilateral talks (largely due to US and, to a lesser degree, Japanese meddling and hardline stances on denuclearization) in 2019?
The Democratic Republic of Jehol | The hope is always there, but I honestly don't think a peaceful reunification could happen this generation. I don't think the South is ready for Juche as it is, if that makes sense. I think the DPRK would be the half that could more easily accommodate aspects of the South's social and economic norms while rejecting those that do not fit in with the best needs of the people. As an aside, where does everyone here get their flags? I'm interested in getting a new one. |
