New ladavia | Along with you, our policy of non-proliferation tends to be suspiciously waived during global nuclear war as well. Daarwyrth, Hoochlandia, Terrabod, McClandia Doge 2, and 1 otherMiddle Barael
The Sarcasm Tag of Canaltia | And, might I say, they've done a fantastic job. Really sets the mood, and they both look really good. While I may not be too active for N-Day this year, I'm looking forward to stockpiling shields with the rest of you! The Bureaudirectic Union of Jutsa | Looks like Chan Island fulfilled their campaign promises after all. Chan island, Ownzone, Daarwyrth, Canaltia, and 2 othersTerrabod, and Middle Barael
The Most Serene Eco-Republic of Middle Barael | Ok, here are some more questions for the candidates, mostly focused on Lore and Culture but some miscellaneous too: 1) Would you support the continued growth of the Lore Ministry? (Not as in more Lore Ministers, just like more Lore Ministry projects) And now some less serious questions: You don’t all have to answer all of these, so we don’t clutter up the RMB. Just answer as many as you want. Bananaistan, Einswenn, Jutsa, Mount Seymour, and 6 othersDaarwyrth, Terrabod, Northern Wood, McClandia Doge 2, Nation of ecologists, and Difinbelk
Daarwyrth | Whichever candidate vows to introduce this gets my vote without second thought. I love the idea!
The Bureaudirectic Union of Jutsa | YES! I mean - er, I'd be delighted to answer your questions, in a professional and formal manner. 100% OOC: Yeeeeeees! (Actually culture and roleplay in general) OOC: I would keep whoever wanted to stay just because they've done a great job already, although I'd be up for new arrivals wanting to try a deputy position as well as replacing anyone who wanted to leave. :P OOC: Seeing as I've already done all of these things for another region... yes! Yes I would! But at the same time I'm not entirely certain "Forest" is really the kind of region to have a "regional anthem" or anything really, except for maybe a motto. That'd have to be discussed with the community at large before anything actually went through, hehe. OOC: YES! 100% YES! OOC: not atm; would kinda like to see what happens with the existing ones first, hehe. OOC: I'm honestly not sure there'd be enough people interested for a weekly thing... though, we could always do something similar, but weekly. Or, we could collect volunteers and just feature them once a week or something. OOC: Yay! OOC: No. OOC: No. OOC: YES. OOC: Of course not, you're awesome! <3 OOC: Oops. The Mysterious Black Hole of Roless | 1. Yes. 2. I think that if people want to stay in government, the cabinet would not be changed much. 3. Yes, i think that would be great! 4. I think encouraging this would be a great idea, but it would obviously be up to the respective ministers to coordinate. 5. No, but i support the creation of new ones if anyone does have a good idea. 6. I’m not sure. As Jutsa said I don’t know if there would be enouch people to keep such a thing fresh for very long. 7. Refer to my last word in answer 4. 8. Absolutely. 10. Hmmm… Jutsa, Terrabod, and Middle Barael
The Concordant Stratum of The Cypher Nine | Yes, I see the Lore Ministry as a passion project that adds value to the region so as long as someone is willing and exited to participate there are no downsides. This cabinet has been exceptional so, unless someone wants to do something else then I would be more than happy to keep it as it is. However, if time and ability permits I would like to start crafting dispatches that go in detail on the requirements for regularly occurring cabinet positions. This will increase transparency, and also encourage more Forestians to engage and be part of future governments. Yes, however I would want a certain level of engagement from the region for anything that dictates Forest's culture in a major way. Absolutely, but also relationships and ideas are organic. They can be fostered best in groups that have the freedom to experiment. While it is not the total burden of the culture ministry and lore ministry to come up with ideas, it is a significant portion of their responsibility. Considering my comments on the success of last terms cabinet however, I have no doubts that your wishes can come true. I love roleplaying, and have lots of ideas but interest is the main deciding factor in how successful RP is. Determining where interest lies, and creating stories or jump points from their is critical to success of those ventures. This is interesting, though it could easily become overwhelming depending on the depth of the lore of each nation and how its showcased. 7. Nobody has time for that. The Incorporated States of Terrabod | I've always felt that official dispatches should follow the same primary spelling/grammar/punctuation rule as issues; namely, the writer should use whichever form of spelling, grammar or punctuation is correct where they're from. I'm not really sure why I should use incorrect grammar, spelling or punctuation (in my country) so that our American nations find my dispatches easier to read or more aesthetically pleasing. When reading others' dispatches the American vs Commonwealth difference doesn't bother me. What's next, telling Regional Officers they're only allowed to use the American spellings of words? You do you, MB, but let me do me. I'm interested as to what prompted this question. It's a little vague. A how? from the candidates would maybe be more informative. In that sense, I'm also interested in what plans the candidates have specifically for the growth of the Culture and Lore ministries. In an earlier post I mentioned running out of time, and it's true - in terms of boosting regional activity, there's only so much Regional Officers can do with regards to the planning and execution of region-wide (and interregional) events and activities in one term. I've learned that the Ministry of Culture is like an iceberg, where the planning and organising necessary to support everything is more complicated and time-consuming than would appear to those participating in the resulting activities. That's not a complaint, it's a hard fact - and add to the behind-the-scenes time that Forest is a hobby and not a part-time or full-time job (if only!). Still, I'd like to see many more cultural events in Forest's calendar and while the Culture Minister should be part of that, whoever that is can't make up all of the difference. What I want to hear from the candidates is this: how would you encourage non-government members of Forest to get involved with regional activities, and how would you encourage them to get involved with boosting regional involvement themselves through running their own regional activities? I'd like to see some of this, though we were obviously both preoccupied with setting up our own ministries during this last term. In line with what I've said above, it would be great to see more Forestians take the initiative with stuff like this. There's really nothing stopping any citizen from deciding to run their own IC or OOC events; consider the likes of Einswenn's IC Pride Conference. I would like to see the occasion marked by Lore Ministry and Ministry of Culture events. In fact, I do have some thoughts on that but they're not in any state to share right now. Eugh, I can smell the desperation from here. Nah, I'm just joshing you. You really made the best of a tough situation where you basically had to build the RP side of things up from scratch. The Green Patch of Treekidistan | September General Elections Round-Up by Polaris Staff The people have spoken, the votes have been counted, the counts started, stopped, and restarted again and the kraken has been released? and TNP?s September 2021 general elections have been concluded. Here?s a rundown: Delegate Election Both major candidates ran on campaigns focussed around engaging the region and ensuring that admin-induced changes to the region could and would be countered with better and more effective outreach, along with renewed and reformed Ministries. MadJack also focused on reviewing the state of tech tools in the region, pursuing a more proactive foreign policy, and tackling over-reliance on a few staffers in the ministries. Dreadton campaigned on doing more to promote the region in-game to a wider audience. Somehow avoiding the self-sabotage that has been a feature of his previous delegate campaigns, MadJack won the election on the first count, with 57% of the vote. Vice Delegate Election Sir Kasto had an additional focus on community relations, leading in trying to engage the Security Council with the larger gameside community, where it had been lacking in previous terms. In the platform, Sir Kasto advocated for a constant engagement that ?will allow better communication and endotarting as they will recognize us.? With Sir Kasto additional focus on community relations and his experience as Deputy Minister in multiple ministries in the previous term, was elected convincingly with 62.07% of the vote. Speaker Election In the re-run election (RON graciously stepped aside), 5 candidates stood - Deputy Speaker Bobberino, former Minister of Communications Fregerson, leader of the TNP Socialist Party Nubt II, former Speaker and Vice Delegate Oracle, and Gameside Advocate and Deputy Speaker Skaraborg. Fregerson, who had run a campaign for RON prior to Venicea withdrawing from the race, was an early favourite, though when Oracle entered the race the smart money moved to backing the TNP veteran, who did indeed win the contest, defeating Skaraborg in the 4th round of voting. Hello Forestians! Jutsa, Ruinenlust, and Middle Barael
The Rriknor of Einswenn | I'm still working on my campaign dispatch where my platform is mainly based on [oh, spoilers] continuation of Chan Island’s course. So my answers to following questions will be given in accordance with it. * * * So yes, basically i’d like to see Lore Ministry projects grow and expand, or, at the very least, keep at the same level. As similar as it was in the 10th Cabinet. If elected, I’ll contact every member of previous government to ask if they wish to stay in charge of the same departments/matters. “Stagnation?” one’d ask, “Stability” I’d reply. As for you personally, I’d love to see you in my team because I’m fascinated by your dedication to lore development and regional roleplay. You’ve done a huge job during the last term and I believe this shan’t end here. Cooperation between said ministries is important, I see them as a joint bodies of the government. Contests are always fun, and if a Lore Minister feels like to call for a RP contest (like your idea of UoF Flag Design one) they have to be able to work together with Culture Minister. However, I’d rather focus on UoF/RP branding and integration instead of expanding Forest’s things. Regional anthem sounds good though. In my opinion, weekly is too frequent. Do we have that many active nations who’d possibly share their lore? Maybe bi-monthly or monthly would be good. Also, instead of focusing on featured nations, I’d love to see Lore Questions of the Week back because this is a splendid worldbuilding initiative that helps a lot in individual lore development for nations (and for myself too, I have all the questions saved in my notes to gradually add them to my lore, thanks for that, MB!). Oh, no thanks. Freedom of vowel expression! This feels like a mandatory act tyranny to me and I’m all for it but no, if elected, I won’t suggest such constitutional amendment this time.
