The People's Jamahiriya of Herzliyya is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by the Herzliyyan People's Vanguard with an even hand, and remarkable for its strictly enforced bedtime, smutty television, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, democratic, humorless population of 40.625 billion Herzliyyans have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass — juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Verda Urbo. The average income tax rate is 99.4%.

The all-consuming Herzliyyan economy, worth a remarkable 6,943 trillion steloj a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is mostly made up of the Book Publishing industry.
