The Dictatorship of Myness is a colossal, genial nation, ruled by The Dominus with an iron fist, and notable for its anti-smoking policies, sprawling nuclear power plants, and devotion to social welfare. The compassionate, cynical population of 8.417 billion Mynessians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, well-organized morass — juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mypolis. The average income tax rate is 93.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

Mynessians teach life's not worth a damn 'til you can shout out 'I am what I am', hell is not always other people, advertisers scramble to sponsor the broadcast of The Dominus's most personal functions, and aggravated apostrophe abusers are admonished and assaulted. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Myness's national animal is the calamander, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
