The People's Republic of Sufar is a colossal, orderly nation, remarkable for its frequent executions, vat-grown people, and devotion to social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 2.568 billion Sufarians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 79.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Sufarian economy, worth 475 trillion Sufis a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Retail, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 185,081 Sufis, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

The Sufar City Film Festival recently voted 'Sufarian Getting Hit By Football' as best film, all footpaths have tollbooths, there's a bright dawn ahead for Sufar, and students spend the school year learning how great the education system is. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sufar's national animal is the Goose, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
