The Holy Empire of Rosicrucia is a large, safe nation, notable for its state-planned economy, devotion to social welfare, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, cynical population of 68 million Rosicrucians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 76.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The basket case Rosicrucian economy, worth 636 billion Anglias a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Information Technology, and Uranium Mining. Average income is 9,356 Anglias, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

One can wake up in Rosicrucia and have breakfast in Bigtopia, former gun owners are finding that brandishing paintball guns isn't as satisfying as the real thing, people believe that if you teach a man to fish he won't buy fish from you any more, and angst-filled teenagers are rushing off to buy government bonds for some odd reason. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rosicrucia's national animal is the Angel, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
