The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 14 million Pogermanians enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, is primarily concerned with Defense, with Law & Order and Education also on the agenda, while International Aid and Spirituality aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4.8%.

A large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway. Crime is a serious problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Pogerman's national animal is the Onça, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
