The Federal Republic of Nuvolacity is a very large, orderly nation, notable for its ban on automobiles, ubiquitous missile silos, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 425 million Nuvolacityians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Defense, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 56.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Nuvolacityian economy, worth 27.0 trillion Solidarity Currencies a year, is quite specialized and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Uranium Mining, Tourism, and Woodchip Exports. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 63,475 Solidarity Currencies, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

More and more people are signing up for the government party, little children cry as their rainbow drawings are seized by the Straight-Thought Police, hot dogs have been renamed lukewarm pigs, and it's rare to find an unchewed pencil. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Nuvolacity's national animal is the Cocorita, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
