The Republic of AnnaK is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Mr Slate with an iron fist, and renowned for its fear of technology, frequent executions, and absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 6.238 billion AnnaKians are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bedrock. The average income tax rate is 88.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient AnnaKian economy, worth 759 trillion Clams a year, is quite specialized and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Automobile Manufacturing, and Book Publishing. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 121,688 Clams, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.3 times as much as the poorest.

Five-year-olds chanting "Little Miss Muffet" are accused of bullying arachnophobes, the government has legalised small-scale capitalism, debates on whether toilet seats should be left up or down are increasingly commonplace, and religious officials are furious after discovering that things made of stone do not burn well at the stake. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. AnnaK's national animal is the Snorkasaurus, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Paganism.

AnnaK is ranked 166,026^th in the world and 3,700^th in The North Pacific for Largest Cheese Export Sector, scoring 767.32 on the Mozzarella Productivity Index.
