The enormous, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of District City. The average income tax rate is 63.5%.

The strong Macadamian economy, worth a remarkable 2,729 trillion aurums a year, is broadly diversified and dominated by the Uranium Mining industry, with significant contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Gambling, and Cheese Exports. Average income is 56,811 aurums, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.1 times as much as the poorest.

There's a literal nanny state for the legions of children taken by social services, warfare increasingly resembles a video game, the nation's politicians are known more for the internet memes they spawn than any of their accomplishments, and the only issue that Liard has is that there aren't enough issues (Macadam has found 3 easter eggs). Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Macadam's national animal is the bovina, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
