The Republic of Junara is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, ruled by Mr Prime Minister with an even hand, and remarkable for its smutty television, sprawling nuclear power plants, and irreverence towards religion. The compassionate, hard-working, democratic, cheerful population of 7.323 billion Junarans have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Rajna. The average income tax rate is 43.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Junaran economy, worth a remarkable 1,319 trillion Zanas a year, is fairly diversified and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Retail. Average income is an impressive 180,119 Zanas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

Meat-eating is frowned upon, Saturday morning cartoons feature full frontal nudity, school nurse's offices feature full-service operating suites, and community organizers have given up going door to door because nobody is home. Crime is totally unknown. Junara's national animal is the Dajabird, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
