The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 7.749 billion Drasisians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, with Law & Order, Administration, and Education also on the agenda, while International Aid and Welfare receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Shangri-La. The average income tax rate is 62.0%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Drasisian economy, worth 704 trillion Drasisian Credits a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 90,906 Drasisian Credits, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Employers are gradually adapting to the alien premise of paying wages to their workers, the monarchy has adopted absolute primogeniture, posters encourage people to "Just Do It!", and the nation wears its high incidence of chromosomal diseases as a badge of pride. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Far Drasis's national animal is the Skinwalker, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Peachism.
