The Republic of Kroken is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Arne with an iron fist, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, compulsory military service, and restrictive gun laws. The compassionate, cynical, humorless population of 18.172 billion Krokenians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The relatively small, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Neslandsvatn. The average income tax rate is 43.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an amazing 267,341 Trilqis, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Superfoods are often seen as supervillains, the government seizes the property of the recently deceased, feeling like a winner comes at a price, and former slave-owners hope there are no hard feelings when they apply for jobs from their erstwhile charges. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kroken's national animal is the Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
