Now that N-Day is over, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I am officially opening the period of public deliberation for the closure of our embassy with The Potato Alliance.
While I am sure all of us made unforgettable memories during this N-Day with The Potato Alliance, I do believe that it is time for us to say our farewells as the embassy was temporary in nature for N-Day and N-Day is over.
While I am still pleased with our performance on N-Day, and will soon begin turning my attention to Z-Day preparations, I’m also in the process of working on another idea that I’ve had stewing around for a while that I think might be yet another fine addition to the myriad of optional and fun activities members of this region may participate in.
To be clear, while I have discussed this idea with and obtained the blessing of Best Sec Kava, this is NOT related to my ministerial duties or any official initiative of the government. It is my own project, albeit one that I hope that many members of our region will choose to share in.
I’m still thinking through the details of how it might work exactly, but I’m going to need an idea of numbers first, so tomorrow comrades, I’ll be announcing formally what my project is and asking for people to express their interest in participating. Assuming we get enough people to make it viable, then I’m hoping we’ll move the discussion onto a Discord room so we can work out the actual details, sort out whose doing what and when it’ll happen etc. It will be a project that might take a bit of time to complete even if we get lots of interest (which I hope), so hopefully using the Discord will let us speed things along.
This is an idea I’ve been excited about for several weeks comrades:) I hope you’ll like it as much as I do:)
I will announce exactly what I have planned in about ten hours, once I’ve slept:) See you all then:)
As promised, the first-ever Regional Updates Telegram has just been sent out! These will be sent out on a monthly basis, with the current plan being that they are sent out on the final day of each month.
Comrades! Following on from the post I made last night, I'd like to unveil my plans for a new regional activity. Like many of you no doubt, I had lots of time to think over months of lockdown and even got quite bored a few times (a rarity for me). As a consequence I came up with an idea for those of us who play 4X games, such as EUIV and other similar titles. I thought it might be a fun idea if TLA were to arrange a fun regional multi-player match with one of those titles, and basically do a once a week or fortnight session of multiplayer gameplay until the game is complete. If you're bad at/have never done multiplayer before, don't worry because A) Being terrible is part of the fun and B) I am too and C) I intend it too be far more of just a bunch of friends having fun than a deathly seriouss competitive thing with prizes and rankings and the like.
While I'm leaning towards EUIV being the game we play just on account of it's popularity (and the fact that I already own it, muhahaha), I'm flexible on discussions about whether we play other games in future like this, depending on how this goes. Basically though I'm thinking we'll play a Paradox title, what I'm looking for now is expressions of interest. If this IS something that interests you, I'd like you to let me know either via Telegram, Discord PM or here on the RMB in a quote. I'll be keeping a list of people who are interested in playing and if we get enough people, (I'm thinking minimum of ten or so), then I'll set up a Discord room to iron out ground rules and figure out who wants to play what or who and work out dates and times that try to accommodate people etc. Basically, I want expressions of interest for now, then we'll go into depth and see how many people we can make this potentially work for in this region.
I am very excited to present this idea friends, so I do hope a whole bunch of you will be curious enough to indulge me. I think this will be a great way of getting people together in yet another awesome way that will further strengthen TLA's community. As the old saying goes, you don't really know a person till you've fought them in a multi-player war (OK, I made that up).
That mod introduced me to Nestor Makhno, and I think this man was great. It also radicalized two of my friends, and that is something I like about games in general.
Embassy Amendment (Military Exemption) was passed by the GA with a vote of 5-0-1. The votes were as follows:
FOR
Dyl: "I'm in favour of including leftist and anti-fascist militaries into the embassy act. While you could argue they might already fall under 2a, clarifying it is a good idea."
Nangka: "Being able to clarify that leftist and anti-fascist militaries fall under their own category for exemptions is good."
New samon: "Leftist and anti-fascists usually will not meet requirements, but the exemption for them is necessary if we wish to open or keep embassies with say, the MT Army."
Sincadenas: "Solidifying bonds with leftist/anti-fascist militaries seems like a good thing to do, and I see no particular negative repercussions here. As already said, clarifying the whole matter is good."
Wascoitan: "This simple expansion to the embassy act will allow us to build embassies with anti-fascist and leftist military's that might not be exempted by 2a."
ABSTAIN
Antinios: "The amendment affects my work in my other position as Minister of Foreign Affairs and thus, I don't feel that its right to vote either for or against the amendment."
Legislation Introduced
Next in the Legislative Queue is Constitution Amendment (Scalable MGAs), which is hereby introduced on the RMB for public feedback over the next 24 hours, after which it shall be put to a three-day poll open to all electoral citizens.
