Hello Comrades in The Leftist Assembly. How goes it?

I have been quite inactive of late as I've (how would the kids say it?) Grinding away at the worst pay to win game ever - capitalism.

See? I am still with it and hip.

Kavagrad wrote:I suppose it depends on your interpretation of "private diplomacy". As long as they don't actually claim to be representing TLA or NSLeft, they're not gonna be in breach of that, in my humble judicial opinion.

I'm not saying it should actually be done, far from it, just saying I wouldn't call that a breach of the Criminal Offense Act.

EDIT: There's also an argument to be made in regards to the requirement of "malicious intent", but I'm not going to go into that here, since the TRCA situation is messy enough as it is.

Fair point, but I was around when the law was made, and outlawing that was definitely it's clearly stated intention, which Justices would probably consider. Needless to say, I'd rather not have to test the proposition either way.

Through rough times, we will persevere, we will make new alliances, and we will win the new fights ahead.

The Capitol Regions of Tobostan

Sorry for (like heck put it) kicking up a lot of dust on this controversial topic, this will be my last post on this conversation and I hope to not stir any more tensions.

First: The COA.

Argentigrad wrote:Sections 1.f and probably 1.d of the Criminal Offense Act:
"1. A nation shall be issued a banjection of length deemed suitable by the Justices and immediate ejection from all positions if they commit any of the following:
d. Creation of false official government documents, with malicious intent
f. False representation as a member of government, with malicious intent"

I'm not falsely creating government documents or falsely representing myself as a member of the GA. Neither of these I have intended to be malicious, though messy and rather inappropriate from the viewpoint of NSLeft citizens.

Cedoria wrote:Also, private diplomacy without formal authorisation from government is illegal in this region, so please don't do anything related to URCA or any other region without formal authorisation from Foreign Minister, Secretary or relevant official.

Uh, to be clear, I think you're not understanding what I'm trying to do. I'm not intending it to be private, I'm taking it a step further, trying to mend relations as the WA Delegate of TRCA.

Fevhader wrote:You said the very definition of raiding and then I'm not raiding.

Ok, I get what you mean, but I'm not destroying their region like the actual raiders and invaders do. The start of this problem was TRCA accepting right-wing nations into their regions. So I'm thinking, what if I stopped that, wouldn't it all be alright? And uh, I think raiding also needs like six million puppets to vote for you, which I obviously don't have. It's just Tobosarsk.

Cedoria wrote:Also, please don't use caps capriciously. We can read.

Noted.

Cedoria wrote:Doing what you described would widely be considered raiding in most regions..

Like what I said to Fevhader, I'm doing my plan democratically, I've already stated my plan in TRCA's RMB, and they haven't objected (yet, I think).

I think the conversation about this plan can end with a rebuttal from you guys, I personally think this idea is risky, and pushes the limits of TLA Laws, but I think if it succeeds it could bring TRCA back into NSLeft. That's my plan. If you guys have better plans, I'm all ears.

I am making edits to the Comrade Index now. There will be some very fundamental changes to the way its counted - basically, instead of you getting a score in each area that can go up to an infinite number, it will now be a score out of 10 where the top nation in the region gets 10 and adjusted using a scale factor calculated using the median. This stops certain aspects (particularly Public Healthcare, Education and Transport, which were counting for way more than the others) from completely outweighing others.

Bit complicated, will specify exactly in the dispatch. Expect some movement. 😛

This looks really neat, is it a new thing? Similar to the greeness index we run over in Forest I guess.

Don't suppose you happen to have the raw data for TLA's averages do you? Can probably work out the calculations other than that. Would be interesting to see how Caracasus would measure up,b

Hmmm.... you know what actually. If you guys are doing more statistical demographic stuff it might be nice to do some sort of Forest/The Leftist Assembly joint thing. Usually most interregional cooperation between us seems to be knocking the stuffing outta mutual enemies come Z or N day.

The People's Republic of Cedoria

We have once again surpassed a population of 300 members. Congratulations to our Minister of Recruitment The final horseman on this accomplishment, and a very warm welcome to all new members who we've had the pleasure of seeing in recent weeks. If you're interested in getting involved and haven't done so already, I recommend Discord sign-ups and asking around about the sort of activities you prefer to do to see where you might be able to have a run at things.

As always, it's a privilege to see how much this community had advanced from its founding days and beyond that, and I'm very glad to have been and remain a part of it.

Unity in Diversity!

Hello everyone. I'm a recent arrival from TRCA. I just wanted to know if this region is more oriented towards rp or leftist discussions?

Upon searching the RMB, I was surprised to find that I've never promoted NationStates Today!

NSToday is an interregional newspaper set up just under 2 months ago. If you are in the Discord server, you might be aware that Kava and I are both involved in the paper. He is a writer particularly focusing on the Interregional Left Football Association (ILFA), and I'm the Chief Politics Editor, a writer on all things elections and gameplay, and a member of the Graphics & Publishing team.

With that out of the way, what's in it for you? This paper is the best source of news from all around NationStates, organised professionally with a comprehensive editorial team, a weekly (sometimes) newspaper edition, and a neato website: https://nationstates.news

You can check out our most recent weekend edition (which I put many hours into compiling yesterday) here: https://nationstates.news/10feb19-saturday-edition/503/

Hope you like it! ❤
