 The Federated Archipelagic State of The Vicures Islands | Hi mate, Here's my take on it - your current flag is better! Right now, from what I can eyeball here, the colors are significantly more muted (Personally, not a fan) and the owl takes up a considerably larger part of the flag. (My opinion depends on execution). Is it an alright flag? Yes...? Would I say it's good to replace the one you have? No, not really. The design of the owl on Version 3 is eerily complex and eats up a big, big chunk of the flag - the now drab blue background is overwhelmed by the dark red and black (which, mind you, creates an unusual...? odd? contrast between the two). The lighter part of the owl is the most defined thing here, and sticks out quite a lot. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but in my take it's not very well executed here. If I were to blur my vision, I would only see drab blue, a thick black outline, the red details of the face, and the shape of the white. It loses a good bit of definition, compared to your current one, which, despite the cute, more cartoony approach, certainly has - in my view - more defined elements which still stand from far away or with blurred vision. It's an O.K. flag, on my PoV, but I'd stick with your current one. | |
