Further investigations by satellite imagery have shown suspicious vehicle movement and several suspected snipers on rooftops. Some 200 RANF Fighters are estimated to be guarding their headquarters along with 10 technicals (Toyota Hilux) posted around the building with mounted machine guns. Armed with Intelligence, Khoikhoia Corps Commander Brigadier A.R Narayan along with his counterpart Lt. Gen. Henrique de Cravos decided that the best course of action would be to seize the RANF HQ and get access to their Operations Playbook which would enable the identification of RANF members. It was decided that Khoikhois Marines (180 Personnels) along with a team of Indian Navy's MARCOS (20 Personnels) would conduct a night seizure of the HQ via Helicopter insertion. 28th Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (859 Personnels, 83 OBF Aditya MRAPs, 40 Ashok Leyland Stallion Trucks and 26 Mahindra Armado IMVs) would come in immediately to help clear the town once the HQ is captured. On 28 April 2024, 18:00 PM local time, the operation began, The Anti-RANF Force left Accra on 17 HAL Dhruv Transport Helicopters with an escort of 14 Mi-24s. At 20:30 PM, the force approached Kojina as 28th RR waited for the Special Forces to capture the HQ. Finally at 20:47 PM the assault began. Mi-24s immediately opened fire on the RANF technicals with 9K114 Shturm from 4 kms which were caught completely off guard. As the chaos was unfolding the HAL Dhruv landed the Marines and MARCOS on the rooftop of the HQ via fast ropes. RANF fighters who tried to go up to the rooftop were immediately eliminated and the Special Forces started to clear out the building, the computer lab and the store room on the third floor were immediately captured as RANF fighters didn't had the time to respond, the special forces were finally slowed down on the second floor. 28th RR began to enter the town where it faced resistance from RANF fighters who were finally able to establish control in the chaos. Heavy fighting took place particularly in a primary school where RANF Fighters had set up four RPG teams and some Medium Machine Guns, requiring Indian soldiers to painstakingly clear the building. A Company managed to reach the HQ and blocked off any exits for RANF fighters and secured the main road along the HQ. Finally by 23:19 PM, the HQ was cleared, with heaviest and the longest fighting taking place for the first floor. Special Forces members had immediately captured the store room and the computer lab which allowed them to capture valuable intel which allows the identification of fighters and donors of RANF. By 2:23 AM, 29 April 2024, the town was liberated as RANF fighters retreated after honorific high losses as they tried to make a last stand. Indian and Khoikhoia were light with most of the KIAs being due to the clearing of the Primary School where heavy fighting was occuring. Overall RANF lost due to severe lack of night fighting capabilities and the element of surprise that the Anti-RANF Coalition had. Some 22 civilians were killed during the fighting and an official Indian-Khoikhoian Enquiry is launched over the matter to determine why it had happened. Overall the operation is considered a massive success as valuable intel was captured and heavy losses were inflicted on RANF, seriously degrading their capabilities in Khoikhoia where it is yet to gain a foothold. Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad considers attacking the building 'difficult' due to the open ground surrounding the building and that the building is all glass, not allowing them to approach the building un-noticed. While NSG had proposed dropping on the roof with helicopters, it was eventually ruled out due to the risk posed to the hostages. An attempt was made when CRPF Troopers tried to make a slow approach to the building from the North via the abandoned Mills but were noticed and the Negotiators were immediately warned that the hostages will be executed if any attempt is made to storm the building. The attempt was promptly abandoned. New Delhi, which has been monitoring the situation, has ordered that the building shall not be stormed until a workable plan is formed. | The Republic of Indiaxxx | Topic: Messy Situation Part 2 With little options, a plan was finally made after the building owner, Aditya Birla Group provided the plans for the building. A daring operation was planned where NSG commandos would infiltrate the building via the sewers while MARCOS would do a night parachute landing on the roof of the building from where a team would enter the ventilation of the building. At 2:51 AM Indian Standard Time, 30 April 2024, another firing incident occur after RANF fighters started to fire on nearby Force One Commandos of Mumbai Police which was responded by the Police and CRPF Troopers who were supported by Two Mahindra Marksman Infantry Mobility Vehicle which led to 4 RANF Fighters been killed. No RPG rounds were fired. At 3:22 AM, the operation started. 20 NSG Commandos entered the sewers and at 3:31AM 40 MARCOS landed on the rooftop after parachuting from a C-130J Super Hercules. By 3:50 AM the teams assembled, 10 MARCOS Commandos infiltrated the ventilation system to scout the building. After careful and painstakingly long crawling, the 55 RANF fighters were located. At 4:27 AM the assault began. The Indian Navy's Signals team started a radio jamming system near the building to jam radio communication. NSG Commandos entered the basement of the building and quickly moved up the building, using silenced weapons to delay the discovery of the strike team inside the building. MARCOS too entered from the rooftop and 10 of them dropped inside via the ventilation system into a hall full of hostages where RANF fighters were caught off guard and killed. Finally at 4:42 AM Smith Coetzee realized that Indian Security Forces had entered the building somehow. He immediately ordered the fighters to defend the meeting room where Dhana Doug and Hana Bahn were kept, insisting that these two were more important to hold. Despite his orders, most of it couldn't be carried out due to the radio jamming and most RANF fighters got confused in the chaos, with some thinking that it's likely RANF's own firing. By 5:28 AM the building was cleared except for the main meeting room. Smith Coetzee himself with 4 others barricaded themselves in the meeting room and strapped two bomb vests on Dhana and Hana. NSG's National Bomb Centre Data was rushed to the scene who successfully diffused the bombs by 6:09AM, just 2 minutes short of exploding. While a sigh of relief was taken by the Commissioner of Police over the diffusing of the bomb vests, only seconds after disaster struck. Bombs went off in Worli, Andheri West, Nariman Point and Churchgate in Mumbai, mainly in cafes and restaurants. Over 40 kg of explosives were used which severely damaged cafes and restaurants and caused high casualties. First ones to respond were the civilians who dragged those in need away from the danger and helped organize rides to the hospital. Mumbai Fire Brigade soon responded to help in the rescue effort. Section 144 was declared for the entire city as schools and businesses were ordered to be immediately shutted down. By 17:30 AM, a total of 72 civilians were reported to have died in the bombings, with 119 injured. The situation has been the biggest tragedy for Mumbai since 26/11. At night thousands turned up at Gateway of India for a candle march to remember those who died. While the battle was a minor victory for RANF, the bloodshed committed against the civilians wouldn't go answered. The RANF was using a primary school which was liberated by a joint Indian-Khoikhois task force in the late hours of Sunday. The raid was a large success, facing little opposition. They seized important documents from the liberated stronghold, relating mainly to the RANF's numbers in Khoikhoia. These suggested that on top of their estimated 600+ soldiers and remaining 20 technicals, the RANF could also count on the support of 2,000 soldiers of the bootlegging ring Soqp in future.
