So, I changed my mind on the placement of MSR on the map, it is now (going to be) between Uan aa Boa and Gorthias, slightly south of the equator. When I was trying to flesh out the pre-history of MSR, seeing how much MSR is inspired by Sri Lanka and Cuba, I thought it would be interesting to have different ethnic groups arrive in the islands at different times, like these places had.

And, if our timelines worked, I thought it would be a cool detail that the ancestors of the group inhabiting Gura and Matos came from Uan aa Boa some 20.000 years back. It makes even more sense because the islands of Gura and Matos would be the closest point to Uan aa Boa on the map in that new placement.

Basically, ancestors of the mountain people arrived on the island and formed a civilization way earlier than any other group, but eventually retreated only to the mountains for yet unknown reasons, leaving a series of ancient ruins throughout the main island. Then, ancestors of the Guranian people arrived (presumably from Uan aa Boa), but kept mostly to the northern parts of the archipelago. Later, ancestors of the modern Amasarian groups arrived (from... somewhere?), by then still culturally unified. Around 2.000 BCE The Amasarians became religiously (and culturally) divided, with the formation of two different "empires" following two different versions of Amasarianism.

And by the late 16th century an intentionally vague catholic european nation colonizes the island until the 1960's, when a communist-led revolution breaks out, creating MSR as we know it today.
