Don't you wish that you could decide what flag our Delegate Primorye Oblast would fly for 48 hours? What if you could make him fly something in support of your favorite sportsball team? Or maybe torture him with flying a banner for a music act that he reeeeeealllllly does not like?

Sounds fun, doesn't it?!

Well now is your chance, in this ENDORSEMENT CONTEST!!

Here is how to enter the contest

1. Like this post
2. Endorse the Delegate
3. The winner will be drawn from random out of everyone that likes this post and is endorsing the delegate at time of drawing

That's. It.

Wait, Sarah. That is waaay to easy. What's the catch?

The catch is, the winner will not be drawn until the Delegate reaches 280 endorsements.

That's not a bad catch! We can absoultely reach 280 endorsements, with your help! How can you help?

1. Endorse the Delegate!
2. Politely encourage others to endorse the delegate
3. Give me your lunch money as a bribe?*
4. Discuss WA things on the RMB. How are you voting? Why are you voting that way? This helps other people join the WA!

*Will not actually get you anything.

Rules:

2. Flags cannot advertise other regions or military organizations
3. For any gray areas, Delegate will have final say in what he feels comfortable flying

Hello Europeia! I am here to tell you about an exciting event within our very own Europeian Republic Navy! We are currently having an internal war games called Fleet Wars! Three fleets of sailors and civilian technicians competing with each other to see who comes out on top.

If this and military gameplay sound interesting and fun to you, then you can become a citizen and join the ERN on ops and in future Fleet Wars!

To become a citizen check this link: https://forums.europeians.com/index.php?threads/apply-for-europeian-citizenship.8891668/

To check out joining the ERN click here: https://forums.europeians.com/index.php?forums/office-of-naval-recruitment.59364/

But wait, what if I don't want to move my WA nation around? you ask. Well then I have good news! You can join the civilian technicians and still assist the ERN with many things without needing your WA nation.

When you join be sure to tell them about this post referring you!

Ministry Of World Assembly Affairs - General Assembly Proposal Discussion

Upcoming Resolution At-Vote: Self-Defence Education Compact

Author: Tinhampton

Tinhampton wrote:Aware that people who are both above and below the age of majority can and do fall victim to violent crime, and

Believing that the ability to defend oneself from such horrors as and when they happen is a skill that ought to be endowed not just on those of us alive today, but also upon the next generation, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and...

The General Assembly hereby:

  1. defines a "school," for the purposes of this resolution, as a primary or secondary educational establishment in a member state which does not specialise in any subject,

  2. requires all schools to educate all of their students, in theory and in practice, on the importance of remaining physically fit, active, and able to participate in team and individual sports, henceforth "physical education,"

  3. mandates that schools, as part of their physical education curriculum, deliver practical lessons to all of their students on the importance and safe execution of basic unarmed self-defence, de-escalating and preventing small-scale conflict situations, and escape from life-threatening situations, and

  4. suggests that those being taught self-defence under Article c also receive similar instruction about more advanced forms of self-defence.

I fully support this idea and wish more real life schools would do this, actually. Self-Defense is a very important skill to know as violent crime can happen to anyone at any given time. There really isn't much to say about the writing other than the fact that the spelling of "defense" is spelled wrong numerous times, which triggers me a bit. Overall, one of the few pieces of legislation I would actually support.

I disagree. For one, there are more effective measures which should be aimed to prevent violent crime in the first place rather than waiting for it to happen. Also this resolution discriminates against disabled people, in my opinion, because they usually aren't capable of defending themselves whatever lessons they receive, and self-defence classes would be useless for them and again could distract schools from teaching conflict prevention. It would be better if the resolution provided for a more inclusive curriculum. Also it doesn't take into account differences between nations and species as some species don't even interact physically, and some nations have no funds to implement the changes in this resolution.

All in all this looks like another Tinhampton badge-hunt that uses current tragic events to help it pass, without actually accounting for the mechanics of NS. If anyone ever wanted to tackle violent crime, the resolution would have to include much more things than just "teach self-defence at school full stop." The only good thing about this one is that defence is spelled correctly :p

The disabled thing is a very good point and I admit that I'm not exactly the most experienced when it comes to NS mechanics, however I don't think that having more inclusive classes is going to change literally anything. I used to live in one of the most violent cities in the state of Illinois and I can assure you that trying to be more inclusive won't change a single thing other than either bloat an already too worthless school system or replace some other junk that nobody paid attention to anyway, assuming anyone pays attention to what's being said in class (which, let's just face it, we know nobody cares and throws away most of their knowledge as soon as the test is over). What we can do though if we wanted to take a different approach is focus on teaching finance and simple skills to work towards getting a job. A lot of crime takes place in poorer neighborhoods and by teaching financial responsibility and increasing the odds of future generations getting a well paying job. Of course it can't take into account the total job openings in the area, but it would certainly help.

Please note that this may well already exist in a GA proposal and I have no idea as my WA knowledge isn't that great, I'm just thinking of ideas and using personal experience as a reference on what might and might not be useful. Also my PC doesn't like "defence" for whatever reason so I just spell it as "defense". Don't know why that is, but that's how it is I guess.

I don't agree with this. It is perfectly feasible to be able to fight as a disabled person, yes they will usually, not always, be able to fight less powerfully, but the important thing is that you can do it, not how powerfully. I myself am disabled, I miss a right leg and right arm, but with my robot arm I can fight even better than most of us.

I agree with the proposal. Physical fitness and self defense skills promote confidence and wellbeing in the world's schoolchildren. I expect this measure will improve physical and mental health worldwide.

I agree with the proposal, but I think youth rebelliousness would rise, wouldn't it?

The Most Serene Republic of Kaiserholt

The Most Serene Republic, whether directly or through its mule account, has always viewed any action of the General Assembly with a healthy dose of skepticism. Nations already have their own system of self defense education, and we don't believe that such legislation is necessary. So Kaiserholt leans toward voting Nay.
