I swear that the only good thing that comes out of New England areas is Clam Chowder and dank fish.

Your Dad is wrong.

Connecticut lacks a decent shopping scene, but we're so small, we just go to Boston and New York for that. Considering it's about an hour from New York to most of Connecticut, you could say we have the best shopping scene.

Connecticut has amazing trails, outdoor experiences and hunting. We have a ton of deer here :/

Connecticut has America's first recognize pizza place and burger joint for that matter.

A lot of haunted mansions as well.

We also have a ton of museums. Some of the most highly rated ones too at that.

Actually, it has a pretty good fishing scene too.

Connecticut's problem is we lack a major city, so we don't have any massive anything. We have an amusement park or two, but they're small. We have a zoo, but it's small. We have shopping malls, but they're small. We have a lot of things, but they're small.

All of which is fine if you live here locally, and it's great if you hate crowds. But it's not great if your idea of adventure is having the latest and greatest amusements.

We also are the constitution state, it's an important place to visit to learn about the Revolution. Also, MLK worked in Connecticut for a time for a summer job, and he said we were really nice up here. Connecticut inspired him to advocate change in the South. So...I think we're also pretty great in that way. When MLK says you are nice, you must be.

It's definitely great if you're a rich guy with a Yacht. We have a Yacht club down at Greenwich, the best in the country probably, and it's right outside of New York City.

If you were to move to New England, I'd probably recommend Vermont for you. I could see Maine or New Hampshire, but definitely Vermont.

Vermont is awesome.

From my experience, I think New Hampshire is a more conservative Vermont.

Maine has the French though. They're not Cajun, but you might find we have a lot in common. We're also fiercely protective of our culture. That's probably because the U.S. government didn't try to beat our pride out of us. That or they failed, I'm not sure, but no one ever told my Meme to stop speaking French.

Ewww, I told you Rhode Island. Sorry, I meant Maine. Maine.

Oh and you know what else good came out of New England?

America ;)

Also autumn. New England is an experience place, not an amusement place. Other than Boston, nothing is really big here. You don't come for one event, you come for a whole experience of nature, food, music, theatre, and museums. Take together, New England is awesome. I think we need to start marketing ourselves as a region, rather than just individual states.

We're a pretty great bunch.

Honestly, Rhode Island isn't even bad, it's just the joke-state of New England.

I feel like New Hampshire sometimes contends for them with that title though, with their lense plates proudly screaming LIVE FREE OR DIE while showcasing a natural landmark that no longer exists.

I'm for some reason considering Alaska as a home, I'd love to live in Anchorage or Fairbanks

That was a day one initiative. President Biden went to the fridge, grabbed an ice cream cone, ate dinner, then sat down and signed the order. That was one of the ones he was insistent on, effective immediately, rescinding.

Reasons why I question people who call Trump a good President. Look, even if every terrible thing he did was great, he didn't do anything. Any President on day one can institute tariffs or sign executive orders. That takes no effort and is undone in a few years. Someone who can't get through legislative priorities and instead has to rely on executive orders for impact is useless.

His one legislative accomplishment was the tax-break, which just stole welfare from needy Americans and raised our taxes, because all it did was redistribute the tax load onto the middle class from the ultra-rich.

If you're going to move to the United States, which state you choose to live in can drastically impact your quality of life, and job availability.

Alaska and say, New York are two very different places. What kind of work will you have your degree in?

I also don't think there is much of a Brazilian community up in Alaska, so good luck getting your native food there. They're all mostly in New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

... Honest question, have you ever been somewhere as cold as Alaska? They get six-months of nighttime as well.

I know people who love living there, but it is going to be a massive life adjustment.

I spent a week in Europe during their winter
I'm doing biomedicine, basically lab stuff
the food part doesn't really bother me

Okay, bro, where in Europe?

European winters, because of the gulf-stream are very mild. My state is on the same latitude with France, but I promise that it is nothing like France. It is really mild in France compared to Connecticut. Alaska? It's in the arctic circle man. It is 15 degrees Fahrenheit in Fairbank, 31 in Oslo just for a comparison. 15 is nowhere near the coldest they see up there. I live in a cold climate zone. You live in a tropical zone. I don't even think I could handle the change of living in Alaska.

Hmm...

I don't know about Alaska, but biomedicine is a northeast business. Connecticut has a sizeable biomedical industry. California, Massachusetts, and Oregon also has a large presence in that sector. Obviously, if you get paid more as a researcher in a place like Connecticut, you'd also have higher taxes. Conversely, in Alaska, you'd have lower taxes but also a lower salary...significantly lower.

I don't know the biomedical space in Alaska, but what I'm saying is it might prove more difficult to find a job there in it than in the Northeast or West Coast. If you like mountains, Wyoming biomedical researchers apparently get paid the most, and, being Wyoming, it also has low taxes...which sucks if you're not rich, but if you lived there as a researcher, you would be.

Of course, I doubt Wyoming has a lot of biomedical jobs. They're just in high demand, that means you'll need to find one first.

I just cant stand the heat anymore, so I want to tuck myself in Antarctica if I could

Bro, if you want cold, it never tops 80 in Connecticut. Maine is also very cold, but not as crazy as Alaska. It's probably also better for your industry. Washington State, near Seattle, is also great for it, but is cold.

The Bloodied Imperium of AquilaJordyn

Okay, that was a lie, we've hit 100, but rarely.

The Bloodied Imperium of AquilaJordyn

In all of my years of making a poll, I didn't expect Connecticut to win one.

We're competing with Maine. Maine. Do you know how great Maine is?

I'd downvote Maine so Connecticut wins, but I can't do it in good conscience. Maine is my family's new-world homeland...I love it. Although the results are skewed because I gave people the choice of West Virginia...

Sorry. I was too lazy to convert. 15 farenheit is -9 celsius. It can average -30 celsius in Winter. 80 is 26 celsius.

In my opinion, it’s equal opportunity thirsting. If a girl can drool over a Kpop/celebrity boy’s abs and thighs and call them daddy, then boys can look at their big busty thicc booty anime/ videogame girls.
