I had to look up the exact name of the vowels, though from a book in my library rather than Wikipedia. The rest was all in my brain.

This is not a reflection on your intelligence. Phonetics is deeply connected to one of my hobbies, and I've done quite a bit of reading on it over many years. Furthermore, I have the sort of memory that is good at recalling technical detail. I know many things that the average bear does not know, because I've spent way too much of my life delving into esoterica that most people couldn't care less about. (I could really bore the socks off of you if I were to start expounding on the mathematics of the infinite!) I also am ignorant of some real-life things that most would consider essential knowledge. And, also, I am retired, so I have lots of time to indulge my strange intellectual passions.

I would note that intelligence and knowledge are only modestly correlated. Lazy intelligent people may well be ignorant. Hard-working less intelligent people may achieve rare knowledge and insight under the right conditions. And intelligence requires motivation to generate knowledge. I don't know a damn thing about the visual arts, because they don't interest me. And some parts of infinite math are quite elementary and accessible to anyone who might care, but most people don't care, and I don't blame them for that.

So don't call yourself names because I knew more about something than you did. I'm sure you have it in you to impress me with how much more you know about something else than I do.

Good greetings lads! I'm looking forward to be part of this region. It's been quite a long while since i've last been on this game. Unfortunately the name 'Phillip Island' was reserved. Anyways, how's the weather here?

DefenderVision has invited us to participate in this year's event, and to send a "regional representative" to sit on their judging panel.
If anyone's interested in being that representative, please let me know, and we'll hold a poll to select our representative.
It doesn't sound like it should be particularly strenuous work, but be aware you'll have to take the time to go through all the entries.

Members of the region are also invited to submit songs, which may be done through audio or text. I'm optomistic that'll be of interest to some peeps~

But to be honest it certainly adds a different flavor to the region. Variety is the spice of life.
