Oh, okay, got it. Same goes for me, got a double-headed to mark the Orthodoxy in Greece(where Alcrosnia located, but really I'm Indian). Just put it there after about a week here.
After recent chat about RP on this board I thought of trying to host a random, swift turn-based RP myself. And today this idea has unexpectedly transformed into some sort of a setting for players
This all became overly chaotic and maybe not as fun as I would want it to be. But anyway, I thought of:
Starting off for the trial version with just 5 players with their puppets in a closed RP region. This is neither Forest nor Europe official event, so advertising it directly would be against this region’s rules (recruiting?) and I’d need to consult the local government for clearance. So, Game points:
Assign player/character cards using randomiser, card types are different and provide different bonuses. This defines the beginning of the set
The game would have 3 incommable/spendable things: reputation (political), coins (economy), and arms (arms)
One RL day is one turn. Players can choose just one action per turn which would be limited to building, political action, or military action. Some turns start with a trigger event, which adds additional action slot and can change game balance. Skipping the day means passing turn without action, income/expense update nevertheless; some events are scripted in beforehand, but can be triggered later than on pre-set turn;
War events are costly. So this could be harder to win that way but again I have no idea how chaotic it can go eventually
The victory would be defined either by completing the main goal (storyline) or by highest score at the final turn, which I guess is 30th (so the game lasts 30 days or so)
The game stats update every day manually by host, redefining strategy and game balance
Also thought of adding some “city states” as in CIV so players can gain territory on a tiny map
Updates are factbook and rmb based. Ofkors my main interest is in graphics hehe but I’d want to keep it focused on the board. Players chat on RMB and only IC, no godmodding. Secret telegram chats are not prohibited if players wish to team up. The turns are taken by picking an option via text post on the RMB;
Some decisions’ outcome are defined by randomiser rather than the host. Spoiler: I wanted to add commend and condemn diplomatic options that would have 50/50 chance of outcome for both sides. In general in order to keep me as a host impartial I’d rely on randomisers and AI decisions (replacing the dice which I don’t have at home)
Some minor stuff I won’t mention now at this stage, this post is already longer than it should be
I don’t know if anyone would be actually interested to try such beta, unbalanced and [honestly] iffy setting, but if I find some time to prepare and host it, I’d be glad if we get 5 players (I won’t let everyone in, I need players who can commit to this short express game, and whom I personally like or at least feel ok about).
Otherwise I’ll play with myself using my own puppets, no that’s not pathetic and I’m not crying, it’s just rain
I like the idea and maybe I could help improve it, since I have experience with tabletop roleplaying games, but I don't know if I'd find the energy to do it. Moreover, I'm too lazy to create a puppet and check it every day. Unfortunately...
This like a dungeons and dragons kinda thing? I am willing to try if you so wished, I think i’d be able to log on over 30 days (I assume it wouldn’t command my whole attention the whole day) I don’t know if my New Horizons “alt” counts as a puppet but it is a story focused nation.
(FYI I have no experience with tabletop role playing games but maybe a fresh face is a good thing?)
If not don’t worry, I may attempt the pilot of my treachery game.
It could resemble DnD but I wish to make it as simple as possible. From what I've been thinking about while commuting after my post is that the game would be somewhat unfair maybe xD not so limitless opportunities and lots of chaotic things that won't be planned deeply through, but maybe that's part of the fun
That's Delegate. For GenSec, you need to be proposed and selected (by the sitting members, I believe, but there might be some Mod/Administrator influence)
