The Empire of Valabui is a gargantuan, efficient nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, compulsory military service, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 12.454 billion Valabuians are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The relatively small, moralistic government prioritizes Defense, although Law & Order, Spirituality, and Industry are also considered important, while International Aid and Welfare are ignored. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.6%.

The thriving Valabuian economy, worth 899 trillion Valoes a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Woodchip Exports, and Trout Farming. Crime is moderate, possibly because it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many regulations. Valabui's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
