The Queendom of Tydus is a mid-sized, safe nation, renowned for its state-planned economy, zero percent divorce rate, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed population of 56 million Tydusians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 36.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Tydusian economy, worth 1.92 trillion arms a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, fairly diversified black market in Furniture Restoration, Soda Sales, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Trout Farming. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 34,300 arms, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Euthanasia is illegal, marijuana is legal in the privacy of your own home, shipping canals are a bit like unimaginative cheese shops -- filled with debris, and there's a lot of mouth-breathers about these days. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tydus's national animal is the insert telescopes.
