The United Socialist States of Trimaros is a small, genial nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, punitive income tax rates, and suspicion of poets. The compassionate, cynical population of 36 million Trimarosians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. Hidden bedroom-cams are installed to catch mothers doing their kids' homework, Trimarosian politics is literally a blood sport, the nation doesn't need to go to war in order to acquire new territory, and tumbleweeds are seen blowing through the nation's airspace. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Trimaros's national animal is the snake, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
