The Republic of Tageln is a massive, orderly nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. The cynical, devout population of 3.912 billion Tagelnians are ruled with an iron fist by the socialist government, which grants its people the freedom to do whatever they like so long as it doesn't involve getting richer than anybody else or challenging the government.

Organ donation is compulsory, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, military spending recently hit a new high, and it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tageln's national animal is the elephant, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
