The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 1.253 billion Solity Oldians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The relatively small, corrupt, pro-business, outspoken government prioritizes Industry, although Education, Administration, and Defense are also considered important, while Environment and Law & Order aren't funded at all. The average income tax rate is 10.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Solity Oldian economy, worth 233 trillion dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Retail, Book Publishing, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an impressive 186,247 dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

A positive GPA is all it takes to get an elite education, children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "love and peace!" as a way of life, it's said that Leader can turn every pleasure into a chore, and heartbroken parents are urged to "smile for the camera". Crime is totally unknown. Solity Old's national animal is the fox, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
