The New Republic of Skywalker is a mammoth, socially progressive nation, ruled by Jedi Council with a fair hand, and renowned for its state-planned economy, compulsory military service, and absence of drug laws. The democratic, devout population of 7.799 billion Skywalkers are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Spirituality, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Yavin IV. The average income tax rate is 46.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Skywalker economy, worth 309 trillion credits a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Trout Farming, and Pizza Delivery. Average income is 39,646 credits, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

An increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, the nation's arms dealers guarantee discretion and untraceable transactions, drug lords often avoid prison time by teaching "chemistry" classes to underprivileged youth, and feeling like a winner comes at a price. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Skywalker's national animal is the bantha, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Jedism.

Skywalker is ranked 73,216^th in the world and 2^nd in Galactic Republic for Most Cultured, scoring 68 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
