The Holy Empire of Riddikulus is a small, cultured nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, compulsory military service, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 36 million Riddikulusians are prohibited from doing almost everything except voting, which they do timidly and conservatively.

The medium-sized, moralistic government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order, Administration, and Education are also considered important, while Environment receives no funds. The average income tax rate is 34.3%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Riddikulusian economy, worth 1.05 trillion baht a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Basket Weaving, Woodchip Exports, Arms Manufacturing, and Furniture Restoration. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 29,069 baht, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

One lone government employee can be seen hunting for the elusive stray white dog, the government tries not to listen to the people unless it absolutely has to, healthcare funding has been cut, and satellite images show safe electoral constituencies in complete darkness. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Riddikulus's national animal is the giraffe, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Riddikulus is ranked 293,002^nd in the world and 145^th in Hell for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring -4.47 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
