The Theocracy of Raumom is a very large, orderly nation, renowned for its ritual sacrifices, compulsory military service, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 495 million Raumomians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, moralistic, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Raumstadt. The average income tax rate is 71.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Raumomian economy, worth 20.9 trillion guilders a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Trout Farming. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 42,244 guilders, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

A PhD just ain't what it used to be, some electoral districts are without a representative as they are stuck with perpetual revotes, young children are learning advanced physics to scientifically disprove the existence of Santa Claus, and citizens are less concerned with policy and more concerned with whether politicians "call 'em like they see 'em". Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Raumom's national animal is the lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
