The People's Republic of Policka is a mammoth, efficient nation, ruled by The Chairman with an iron fist, and renowned for its triple-decker prams, enslaved workforce, and flagrant waste-dumping. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 8.882 billion Polickans are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, with Law & Order, Education, and Administration also on the agenda, while Welfare and International Aid receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Czewrotów. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 93.0%.

The frighteningly efficient Polickan economy, worth a remarkable 2,514 trillion Złoties a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an amazing 283,152 Złoties, with the richest citizens earning 9.0 times as much as the poorest.

A long-distance hike gets students geared up for a long day at school, one little fight can find you movin' to be the fresh prince of Ilba, tourists outnumber citizens two to one, and scenic tours are unheard of after most environmental laws were abolished. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Policka's national animal is the Pingwin, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
