The United States of PIECE OF DOOM is a gargantuan, orderly nation, ruled by Captain Spock with an iron fist, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, ritual sacrifices, and compulsory military service. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 13.228 billion PIECE OF DOOMians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, well-organized government prioritizes Defense, with Education, Spirituality, and Welfare also on the agenda, while International Aid receives no funds. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 54.7%.

Young girls often attend the same schools as their children, scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, frat-house partying has become the national pastime, and end-of-year production reports state that the revolution is really going with a bang. Crime, especially youth-related, is a problem, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. PIECE OF DOOM's national animal is the rabbit, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
