The Federation of Bloxian States is a huge, socially progressive nation, notable for its compulsory military service, sprawling nuclear power plants, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 866 million Bloxians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Defense. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of State City. The average income tax rate is 40.2%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The strong Bloxian Statesian economy, worth 72.3 trillion dollars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, fairly diversified black market in Information Technology, Uranium Mining, Basket Weaving, and Arms Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 83,528 dollars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Fire stations and hospitals can't deploy emergency vehicles because badly parked cars block them in, signatures have been replaced with illegible scribbles, praying before a battle is a court-martial offence, and the government is a proud sponsor of the National Gaming Association. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Bloxian States's national animal is the bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
