The Republic of Modopia is a very large, safe nation, renowned for its multi-spousal wedding ceremonies and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, hard-working, democratic population of 301 million Modopians enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

The relatively small government prioritizes Law & Order, although Administration, Defense, and Education are also considered important, while Spirituality and International Aid are ignored. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12.4%.

The strong Modopinese economy, worth 19.5 trillion dollars a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Basket Weaving, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Beef-Based Agriculture. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 64,826 dollars, with the richest citizens earning 7.8 times as much as the poorest.

The Modopinese Intelligence Agency relies on internet search engines to know what is happening overseas, wildlife near farms is slowly becoming extinct, confessions don't count if suffixed with "izzle", and nervous homeowners have been blamed for rising death rates amongst carol singers and locksmiths. Crime is well under control, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Modopia's national animal is the giraffe.

Modopia is ranked 196,980th in the world and 1st in Union of Developing Nations for Highest Poor Incomes, with 21,125.03 Standard Monetary Units.
