The compassionate, democratic population of 3.942 billion Saitanics are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The Saitanic economy, worth 182 trillion Kroner a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. Snap elections are called over every minor impasse, the big red machine has ground to a halt, school lockers are filled with fancy underwear, and a recent political speech drew the ire of nerds everywhere after the speaker claimed that Darth Vader was Harry Potter's father. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Saint Scarlett's national animal is the Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is No Official Religion.
